I have to wonder why someone decided to make the 5th Weapons in DW 8 completely useless.

Also, seconding Liao Hua. If only because he's one of the few NPC's I consistently notice.

Man some of the objectives you have to accomplish for the Dynasty Warriors 8 hypothetical are anal, I mean how does defeating the retreating officers and preventing the fire attack have a affect on the battle of Fan Castle? I spent forever trying to get the Shu and Wu hypothetical endings, playing some stages over and over again trying to meet the star Requirements.

if they decide to do the conquest of Wu, they would have to give late Wu a badass upgrade since Historically they went out with whimper thanks to Sun Hao being kill happy and being a general asshole.

The retreating officers cause a chain of events that causes you to loose forces, save em and they help out.

@Nick The Swing: Your idea Huang Hao sounds wonderful. It is the same heroic paint Shu tends to get, but it's still the same oily, corrupt snake...Just fighting for the sake of BARNOLVENENCE.

@Hypothetical Routes: It's all fine. It's Dynasty Warriors, which isn't the most grounded piece of 3k media, and most importantly, they play out like terrible fanfics of Romance and it is wonderous.

@Wu Fall: It couldlean towards the the internal conflict angle, but the mess that was Later Wu's court drama is headachingly complex, and downright brutal for everyone involved. It could be done, but Koei's shown they really really don't care much about Wu as a whole.

Again, though, anything is possible. The rather anticlimactic way Shu died off for good was turned into this final clash of opposing ideals, where the one who won the most was the one who stopped the bloodshed first. It also turned Zhong Hui's depressingly brief rebellion into this moment in the spotlight for Liu Shan.

Wu is the neutral kingdom, playing Wei and Shu against each other to their own interest, or at least that how I felt about when reading Romance of The Three Kingdoms...

Just defeated Ma Chao with Wang Yis aerial musou. I made all her dreams come true, "this feels great" indeed.

Wang Yi is the only female character I play regularly.

One time when I was playing as Ma Chao in one of the hypothetical Shu stages, I actually was killed by Wang Yi's aerial musou. For a few seconds, I felt kinda disturbed.

I used Wang Yi on my first free play of the game, and was able to beat Lu Bu. :D

Does any here think Li Dian's gay? When I played as Cao Ren, he repeatedly expressed gratitude and how he felt love at first sight. On the Gamefaq thread, it was a translation mistake over his love of poetry, but it was surprising to keep hearing that line quite consistently.

I think I'm in love. Uhh, forget I said anything.

Despite only appearing in the Xtreme Legends stuff, I play Lu Lingqi the most out of all the characters, female or otherwise. She's my "main" character in Ambition Mode.

It's Zhurong or bust. You can keep your Princesses, Your Queens and your Empresses. I'll go into battle with my goddess.

I just did a bunch of reading about the historical figures that Dynasty Warriors characters are based on and there is only one thing I want from Dynasty Warriors 9.

Evil Shu.

Liu Bei was a backstabbing asshole who grew from measly mercenary force captain to a king on cheer charisma and dumb luck and that is actually a really interesting story to tell.

Perhaps the Huang Hao days could be adapted to fulfill such a purpose. Benevolence taken to the level of fatalism.

Huang Hao and his female Seer partner in crime manipulating Liu Shan.

Also, give the said Seer something like Zuo Ci's card, oh, I dunno, floating animal bones as a weapon. A reference to how fortunes and possibilities were read by Seers using the bones of animals and such.

Li Dian says that phrase regardless of the gender of the character your playing as, so it would be more likely he's bisexual.

I did Shu after doing a bit of Lu Bu, Cao Cao and Diao Chan's, and I keep thinking over how Liu Bei is way jerkish than Lu Bu and Cao Cao. He only appears nice and benevolent, but when the situation calls for getting more of himself, he has no sense of loyalty and would do whatever it takes to get the better cut. He tries hiding his ambition, but decided to kill his own kin to get the land for himself.

While Cao Cao maintains loyalty towards the emperor and his people, keeping an eye on his goal and being honest over his ambition, Lu Bu does whatever it takes to protect Diao Chan, Liu Bei is so short-sighted he'd switch sides that seems to be good but bad in the long-run.

I'm glad Xu Shu served Cao Cao instead, as literally a person who stopped by to help. Also I got confused a bit hens turning into roosters, which turns out to be an omen. :p

[up] I think it's a lost in translation thing, over being in love since he's the poetic type. Like being in love with their swordsmanship? I want to think he's bisexual, though.

Wang Yi is singlehandedly one of the most dangerous opponents you can fight in singleplayer.,

My little sister got killed like 3 different times by her playing, and yes by her aerial special which does an obscene amount of damage(and looks awesome).

My favorite female to play is Zhurong, as the boomerang is a lot of fun to use and she's pretty good looking.

I personally see Liu Bei as someone who is more loyal to his ideas of how to rule the land, which is why I think he tends to betray people, since they don't match his idea of benevolence.

I always keep a spare musou-gauge bar filled for fighting playable officers. The best defense against an enemy musou attack is a well-timed musou attack of your own. I still don't forget my surprise when Xiahou Ba rocketed straight past my regular defenses with his secondary musou, only to strike from behind.

Dynasty Warriors the SRPG has been announced. They seem to be making it a kinda successor to Kessen 2.

Everyone forgets that Dynasty Warriors already had an SRPG, Dynasty Tactics.

It technically was and technically wasn't at the same time.

They're making DW's special anniversary a party, alright. It is a shame I can't get super hyped for either the movie or the SRPG, but the movie is at least going to be a guaranteed quick fix of eye candy and laughs

So, picked up DW 7 Xtreme again and finally got a character's stats high enough to blow the game wide open. I'm now having fun stamping all over the difficulty curve, getting all the chaos weapons and maxing the stats of whoever I feel like. However, I don't think I have a proper understanding of the most efficient weapon combinations. Now, as far as character tiers go I couldn't give less of a shit really, but which weapons and elements make good pairings? So far I have a preference for the Halberd and Chain Scythe and the Lightning and Wind/Slay elements (I use Double Element except on Lu Bu because triple Synergy is funny to watch), and my main Character is either Wang Yi or Xing Cai depending on who I feel like using.

Also, is there a trick to hitting Wang Yi's aerial musou properly? It seems to be really finicky about hitting the guy dead centre to trigger the grab.

Can't think of anything witty, so have this instead...

There really isn't much build you can do in 7, Synergy can pretty much wreck everything as long as your stat is high enough, but if you don't want to stick with the same element, use double elements and equip a Slay weapon and a Wind weapon. Also you would need Attack Range Up, Elemental Attack Up, Officer Assassin and Projectile Resistance.

Don't think Wang Yi's Musou can be targeted better, it's just flimsy like that in 7.

Yeah, I use all of those other seals. And I know that you only need to put Combat Resistance and Double Element on one weapon. What I meant was, which weapon styles are regarded as the best in the game? Character Tiers don't matter to me because if a character's default weapon sucks I just replace it and lose their EX attack, But I don't actually know which of the many weapon styles are good or bad because I've only used about 6 of them with any regularity. Obviously Halberd is the best weapon in the game as it's Lu Bu's weapon, but what other ones are good?
