That's a considerable understatement...
British 'jihadist' describes his plan to go to Iraq or Syria to fight
Keep Rolling OnThe UN has passed a resolution that would slap charges against individuals or groups that overtly support ISIS, including recruiting those who want to fight for them in Iraq.
Lot of angry Yazidi refugees want to fight ISIS fighters and save their female relatives. Humanitarian supplies continue to be flown in, but countries are unsure if arming Peshmerga fighters is worth the risk.
Given how little the Shiites or most of the UN cares I see little harm in it. Sure they might get separatist ideas and start acting feisty once they score a victory or two, but I'd honestly prefer that situation instead of them being butchered by IS.
The Kurds are a pretty known factor at this point, and they are so far the only force in the region that's both reliable and not out to conqueror/slaughter everyone else.
Politics is the skilled use of blunt objects.Berlin is willing to supply arms to Peshmerga fighters.
Meanwhile, British LE Os may be allowed to take passport from British nationals if there is strong evidence that they may fight with ISIS.

That was announced a while ago.
Further on Britain and ISIS:
- Scotland Yard warns people could be arrested under anti-terror laws for viewing footage of the killing of US journalist James Foley
- James Foley beheading: Hunt on for 'British' jihadist
- Islamic State: British fighters make up a quarter of foreign jihadists

Keep Rolling OnHave just been skimming through this thread. I found these articles earlier in the year, and thought some of the people here might find them interesting. I've always found the intersection of terrorism and organized crime to be fascinating, and those articles provide a good examination of it.

Iraqi commandos are scheduled to launch new attacks against ISIS fighters.
Peshemergas have successfully held the line against any ISIS fighter in case they have a case of Too Dumb to Live.
ISIS claimed responsibility for kidnapping a Japanese man in Syria. According to some news that I read up, the man has the same name as the man who is a security contractor. Details are sketchy.
Otherwise, the NPA and the MOFA are getting a team ready

All law enforcement/intelligence agencies are on alert for Muslim women who plan to travel to the Middle East to help the fighters with "sexual comfort".
Yeah....
I thought they already confirmed that to be a fake story? Why is it popping up again?
Maybe it's not as fake as some would like it to be? Incidentally, an article from Foreign Affairs on The Women of ISIS
In Britain:

Keep Rolling OnSheesh, that guy has had one rough life. Losing your wife, business, going into debt and trying (and failing) to commit suicide by cutting off your own genitals, followed by gender identity issues? I'm really hoping ISIS grows a bit of a heart for this one incident and lets him free with only a small ransom/condition, but their track records say otherwise.
Then again... the fact that he's in reality such a low-value target might end up saving his life. They're not gonna want to hold onto him for long now that the truth is out, probably just emasculate him a bit more and then try and get rid of him ASAP (again, hopefully by releasing the poor dude).
Dude, that gave me the chills...
Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.Peshmerga fighters are being equipped with G36s courtesy of supply drops from Berlin. Spiegel confirms this.
Canberra should have some small arms transported to the Peshmerga fighters too.

This post was thumped by the Eldritch Flyswatter of Horror
Attempted carbomb attack at NAIA-3 taken down by the NBI in Manila. Suspects are from an ultra right-wing group called the "United States Allied Freedom Fighters of the East (USAFFE)".
Their targets include SM Mall of Asia and a company called the DMCI, former 'cause the owner is of Chinese heritage and the latter is under investigation for illegally employing Chinese nationals.
Main suspect is a lawyer named Ely Pamatong, a nuisance presidential candidate a few years ago. The group tries to use a manifesto to put the blame of ex-rebels from the New People's Army and the Moro Islamic Liberation Front. The attack was done due to Chinese encroachment to the Spratlys.
ISIS released another video on the net with the execution of a British humanitarian worker abducted in Syria. Same dude did it again.
And just what are they hoping to accomplish here? Did they not hear of how Bullying the Dragon is a majorly Bad idea?

Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus.I guess they don't care if their scaring tactics at the West is working or not.
^^ Given how much of the west hasn't shown all that many Dragon-like tendencies for a good while now...
All your safe space are belong to TrumpBear in mind that releasing videos is often as much for internal political reasons as the effect it might have on us. It could easily be that someone in the Da'esh needs to prove how "fundamentalist" they are to their own rivals.
ISIS' actions have made the Yazidis very nervous that they want to seek asylum away from Iraq.
