I just use it cuz the name is more accurate. ISIL/ISIS/IS are not for a variety of reasons, some aforementioned already.

Is it Daa-esh or Daysh or Day-esh? The apostrophe makes me think the former.
noisivelet naht nuf erom era srorrimDa-esh, IIRC.
The voice of thy brother's blood crieth unto me from the groundActually, the English "Levant" and the Arabic "Al-Sham" are equivalent terms that denote the same geographic region as it was historically known, i.e. Palestine and Jordan are indeed part of "Al Sham" as a geographic region. You can even cross-check with the Arabic Wikipedia article, which is linked to from the English Wikipedia article via the "Languages" submenu at the left.

Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus. What do you. The more you know etc.
The voice of thy brother's blood crieth unto me from the groundProblem isn't whether the names are equivalent. The problem is no one settles on which one to use in the english translation.
Ah, that's true. But that list still provides for some interesting background on the whole name thing.
Anyway, back on topic... Any terrorism-related news?
Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus.Yeah. Financial Times says IS begun mass-executing foreign recruits who want to go back home instead of fighting.

Maybe that will help deter any people who are interested in joining them.
Unless they chalk it off as "they're deserters, they deserve to be mass-executed", if they believe in Daesh's ideology fanatically enough.
Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus.Looks like the Kurds are starting to retake Sinjar.

Politics is the skilled use of blunt objects. If literally and maliciously shooting up a school does not convince the world of the evil of this kind of organized Islamic fundamentalism, nothing will.

Great now the crazy individuals who latch onto Islamic extremism are coming out of the woodwork in Europe, first Canada, then Australia and now France. The Met must be working overtime to stop something happening in London, we've had so many occurrences copy cats seem inevitable at this point.

Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus.Terrorism being used as an excuse for those with existing delusions.
Just say you support 'insert group here' and there you go, international coverage. Some others will see it, rinse and repeat.
Not copycat. Just more efficient.
The US has long been in denial over our domestic terrorism problem. It is easier to make people afraid of the brown man way over there instead of the truth that the clean cut white man down the road is more likely to blow you up.

Quickly ruled "accidental" by the local police.

Daesh stands for "Dawla Alislamiyah fi Aliraq wa A-sham" (دولة الإسلامية في العراق والشام), "The Islamic State in Iraq and Greater Syria".
