Those two tropes don't even have Wander Over Yonder listed as an example. Let me fix that right now.
Recently saw "The Liar," and it's definitely on my top five for this show. Another great Wander and Sylvia contrast episode. "The Stray" is pretty good too.

at the end of the episode "The Little Guy" almost makes me want to learn to play the banjo.

So just recently found out about this show. Was a fan of the art style of Foster's Home, and I like a handful of the modern-day Cartoon Network offerings. You guys think I'd like this show? What's the tone like?

It's basically Doctor Who's content meets Looney Tunes' tone.

It just bugs me that they didn't make that the intro theme as intended. The one they went with is good as it is despite the repetitiveness.

I can understand why they chose what they did. The current theme song has more energy and thus is a good first impression for younger viewers. At the same time, I also find it somewhat annoying, and that probably drew away some older viewers.

Have to agree - you rush something like Flash (although this ain't Flash, but it's close enough - it's just better, TBH.), you inevitably screw up royally.

Yeah, good point. Do you think they'll change the theme song for the second season? That honestly was my least favorite part of the show.

They better NOT change the opening theme - that's easily the best part of the whole show, IMHO. Just that alone shows off all the worldbuilding this show is blessed with and royally and rightfully boasts. Gutting that would be a mistake. A horrible, horrible mistake!

I didn't like it the first time I heard it, but it sort of grew on me later.

Why aren't you laughing?
If that's true I really hope that it doesn't mean that the big bad is going to be some whinny spoiled brat. We already have one in Star Vs. who's just a minor role. We don't need another that's supposed to be a villain. I'm perfectly fine with this new big bad turning out to be a woman, but the idea that she's also a teen worries me.
