Let's raise a glass for the man who made our respective childhoods (and those of millions of others) a little bit better. May he rest in peace.

"I shall not be foolish again, my dear Gwendolyn!"57 years old is too young to die. Then again he was battling ASL, so yeah it finally caught up to him. This is the same year that cancer did in Rotten Robbie as well. We need even more awareness about cancer.
Well fuck. Hope he rests easy.
Self-serious autistic metalhead who goes by any pronouns. (avvie template source)Found out just now.
Can't stop playing this song in my head...
Suffice it to say I knew this day was gonna come. I just didn't expect it this soon.
I was there when Sponge Bob was a new show. I could not have predicted it would have still been this big after all this time. I can only wonder how he felt...
For all the success he found, however, judging by everything I've heard about him he was a great, humble guy.
Suffice it to say, there's a number of people in animation he was friends with who I've already seen post their condolences, and there'll undoubtedly be more to come. He made his mark in the world and it won't be easily forgotten.
"They say I'm old fashioned, and live in the past, but sometimes I think progress progresses too fast."Oh my god. I just found out.
RIP. At least he'll be remembered as someone who brought joy to millions.
Just made a server on discord.Come join me.Universal Orlando's tribute post on Stephen.
"A Lady does not start fights but they can finish them"R.I.P Stephen
R.I.P Stephen Hillenburg. Spongebob is my favourite cartoon and will always be very significant to me. It is a unique, clever and funny show, and Hillenburg was and always will be one of the most talented and clever staff members on the show.
Im on a long hiatus/quitted because im burnt out sorrySome info on the crew's reaction to Stephen's death and the future of the show.
"A Lady does not start fights but they can finish them"I do think out of respect for him that they should eventually pull the plug on the show.
David Hasselhoff,s twitter post on Stephen.
Even Cartoon Network made a tweet remembering him.◊
"A Lady does not start fights but they can finish them"The one person I hoped to weigh in on this has.
"They say I'm old fashioned, and live in the past, but sometimes I think progress progresses too fast."Creator Avatar: The Last Airbender on Stephen◊
"A Lady does not start fights but they can finish them"R.I.P. 57 is too young To think this started when I was kindergarten and I'm turning 25 later this year. Probably one of the most popular shows of my generation.
35 year old white man.I have also heard about Stephen Hillenburg'snote unfortunate demise. A neurodegenerative disease such as ALS sounds like a terrible way to go.
I know it's just a coincidence, but I can't be the only one who noticed that Stephen Hillenburg passed away just 8 months after another ALS-afflicted celebrity named Stephen H. (Stephen Hawking) also died.

"A Lady does not start fights but they can finish them"Wait it was neurodegenerative?
Jesus chrised, I didn't know his death was that potentially bad.....
Yes, I noticed the exact same thing.
Sweet Victory confirmed for Super Bowl 53?
"I shall not be foolish again, my dear Gwendolyn!"Well, there was a bit of animation with a new line from Squidwards' Voice Actor, Rodger Bumpass; they played the Horn Intro to it on Synth... And then the animation switches to meteors crashing into the earth to introduce some Rapper I don't know who.
It makes me think Maroon 5 or the NFL couldn't get the rights to "Sweet Victory" from the original Creators (David Glen Eisley and Bob Kulick), but could get the rights to Spongebob, so they hedged their bets, went ahead with the animation, and tried to get the rights to the song in time, but couldn't. Or it was a massive jerk move from Maroon 5 and the NFL.
Either way, it's a darn shame.
Sweet Victory is a royalty-free song, so the NFL didn’t need to get anyone’s permission in order to use it in the halftime show, as Nickelodeon had quite a library of such. But then again, that is what I call a Trolling Creator!

And to you, I say "Giraffe!"SpongeBob rickrolled us. That said, I was still excited to see even that small bit of animation.
