In light of that, I wish to post this

I don't think it'd be too dark, I mean, they've got the Rock in his dream role. But if Adam's only an anti-hero, will there be an actually evil villain, and if so, who? Most of the Big Red Cheese's other foes are way to cartoony to take seriously.

Well, we are probably going to get at the very least some mention of Sivana or something. I dunno if DC's willing to do dual villains at this stage, but if they wanted to throw in an evil alternative to an otherwise anti-heroic "villain" they do have Sivana as the archenemy.

But I don't think they need it. I like the idea of the major antagonist being a dark reflection of sorts to Billy - not truly evil, but extremely misguided.

In any case, all this info we're getting about Shazam is... dare I say it... making me optimistic! I can't wait for more information about this.

Of course, even he's a very cartoonish character, and outside of Adam he's the most grounded villain.

Even though Adam's an anti-hero, he still tends to lean very heavily on the "anti" side. He's a dark enough character to carry the role of the main villain in the plot.

And with such a high-profile actor playing him (we know about who's playing the villain before the hero!), and the fact that they're pushing the anti-hero side of his character, I can see Black Adam avoiding the Superhero Movie Villains Die trope and appearing in more films.

Now the question is, of course, who's gonna play Shazam/Captain Marvel? My vote still goes for The Rock in a dual role, but I doubt they'll do that.

Exactly! It's the reveal no one expects.

The Rock should play Black Adam, Shazam and Billy Batson.

Billy will just be the Rock as he is, wearing a pair of shorts and a baseball cap. He also needs to be seen eating an oversized lollipop at all time, for maximum effect.

That Cracked article on the four things about DC thing was spot on, in my view. Particularly this ending:

My favorite joke so far has been Black Adam using the People of Kahndaq's Elbow.

A magical lightning powered elbow drop from orbit would make this the greatest movie of all time.

"THE MOST ELECTRIFYING MOVE IN SUPERHERO ENTERTAINMENT!"

It wouldn't really be a drop. More just flying down.
