Other things that life tries to put a stop to as well?

I ate pasta for breakfast.

But even if I did have a waifu, I would still be eating pasta for breakfast...

It kind of bugs me when people mock The Catcher In The Rye, since it was probably the first piece of media that ever really resonated with me on a deep emotional level.

Insert witty 'n clever quip here.

I like The Catcher in the Rye. It was an affectionate parody.

It's not really a parody.

No, 0dd. I meant that my emulation of it was an affectionate parody.

Oh.

That stuff still bugs me though. I'm generally fine with mockery of things I like, but that's one thing I don't generally take too kindly to.

I Catcher tiresome and the main character both frustrating and not really relatable. But it was written well.

Probably the worst of the novels I had to read for English class, outside Australian authors' they shoehorn into the curriculum.

Maybe it's just that I've always felt disaffected and isolated from everyone, as well as socially awkward with a slight hint of hatred toward the world at large and its population even if I wish I didn't have that hatred. More so when I first read the book than now, admittedly, as I feel like I've come to terms with a number of my issues, but not nearly all of them.

[up][up]I'd identified quite a bit with Holden, when I'd first read the work, which is why I sometimes speak as him. So, we just have different ways of expressing our interest in that book.

[up]Welcome to loneliness in company.
