Being a fan of the series, I have no problem with the current image.

However, I came across of this image, which apparently is a cover for a manga called ARIA. I figured that this was an even bigger demonstration of this trope, rose petals and smiley face and all.

Here is a cropped version. Does anyone know how to erase words and such?

[up] I do agree that is a superior picture.

We should probably wait to find a good image for this until it goes through the grand and unified appearance trope discussion. There it will probably be given a more specific definition than, "cheery and optimistic, strong and passionate, or sweet and romantic."

[up] Agreed, although the suggestion is a better overall pic than the current.

Ah, I see. I wasn't aware of this development. Oh well, I can wait.

Honestly, I think her smile is kind of off. It's distracting me.

Oh this, I forgot I launched this thread. [lol]

By the way, what is this unified appearance trope clean up thingy? I looked up both TRS and Long Term projects and whatnots, and I didn't see anything like that.

Here you go.

It's on the Long-Term Projects forum. Not sure how you missed it.

Yeeeaaaah, neither do I. Talk about Failing A Spot Check.

Well, as far as I know about the trope, it's still a girl with a pink hair girl who is passionate/optimistic so on. I think that suggestion is better than the current one.

But in general, I have no idea what should be done in this case.

If she's supposed to be optimistic, then the suggestion is superior to the current image.

I'm still in favor of the suggestion, for it being a more interesting image if nothing else.

The suggestion seems better but I'd rather not change the image and then change it again after the page is defined. The question is, does it capture the essence of the page? Smiles and rose peddles does look rosy and the opposite of the Shy Blue-Haired Girl.

I think it is rather likely that this trope wouldn't be redefined that much, given that it already has a definition that isn't too terribly broad or anything. Even if it will be, given the number of tropes on queue and how active the Appearance thread is, it will be quite a while before it happens. I wouldn't worry about it.

As for the appropriateness, I think it demonstrates it quite clearly.

I do not agree with "I'd rather not change the image and then change it again after the page is defined" since the image will be improved in the meantime and the additional change doesn't look like a bigger workload.

Even with that (which I don't really agree with), it's an all around better image, compared to the current image. I think it would be a good change.

BTW, there are are other rather good images in the image links sub-page. What I think could help is commenting out Zero Context Examples, or providing context. Now the page is just a little more than a list of characters with rose hair from anime. ;-)

I'm not surprised it has a ZCE problem with the vague description. If we don't want to wait for the appearance clean up we could start a TRS for it.

The suggestion in the OP is rosy but so is [[http://media.photobucket.com/user/sync2285/media/Tales%20of%20Vesperia/Estelle3.png.html?filters[term]=estelle&filters[primary]=images#/user/Starlight-Arkaman/media/whant_to_look_out_by_marrazan-d6ehghm_zps063efcb7.png.html?filters[term]=estelle&filters[primary]=images&_suid=1375063842334004497371413107476 Estelle]], Yukari Koshiki, and Laury Callwell.

Current should go. It's just a girl with dark pink hair. She's... sort of smiling, so that might represent optimism? But other than that, it's just a girl with pink hair.

[up][up] The first link is broken. Of the other two, the latter is decent although I still lean toward the OP. I'll hit the snooze so we can mull this over some more.

I will try my best to not to be biased:

1 is an invalid link, so I can't comment on it.

2 isn't that good, because it has the same problem the current image have; just a girl with a pink hair.

3 is better, but I am still against it because the animals take away the focus from her hair. It more resembles Kindhearted Cat Lover than this trope.
