We all know some killers from Slasher Movie s have ranged weapons as secondary weapons (like Jason using arrows and The Prowler having a sawed off). However, there were three "slasher films" from the 80's that had killer with ranged weapons as signature weapons. Here they are listed below:

The Nail Gun Massacre (1985) TAG:The Assassination Game (1982) Master Blaster (1987)

Unbeknownst to us, these three movies were actually attempts at kicking off a rival sub-genre known as "shooter films", but the sub-genre was scrapped because it failed to catch on with audiences and thus, these three are often tossed in with the regular slashers.

First-Person Shooter is a video-game genre these days, so maybe the second attempt was successful.
