"So you're the armorer huh?" Mark shook hands with the man.

"Yeah. Name's Jack Emery, used to be with JTF-2 back in the day." Jack shook hands with him and everyone else in the task force.

"So why are you in the country?"

"Just a change of environment." Jack shrugged. "And the fact that I needed to do something instead of acting like a spoiled foreigner who'd go to casinos or nightclubs in the seedy part of Makati."

"Right..."

"Anyway, I'm only here part-time since the main armorer is in the hospital due to a bad stomach thanks to food poisoning."

Jack arranged some black boxes on the counter.

"These contain Glock 17s that are chambered with Belgian-made 7.92×24mm cartridges with Armor Piercing - Hollow Point Fragmenting capabilities as the main sidearm for all agents that require a sidearm." Jack debriefed the assembled team on the boxes when he patted one of them with his right hand. "However, I've been told that some of you did place in requests for purchasing personal sidearms with the allowance given to you thanks to help from NCTAG."

"You mean that my sidearms are here?" Mark asked Jack.

"Yeah, that's right." Jack said as he opened one black box, which was large enough to fit in two sidearms. "Yours is an unusual request though."

Mark went to the counter and inspected the box's content for himself when he lifted the cover. Good. It's all here.

He took out a Pindad PS-01 semi-auto pistol with a loaded 18-round magazine.

"That one looks something straight out of a Robocop movie." Jack commented. "I can get your custom holster ready since standard ones can't handle that.

"Thanks." Mark took out a revolver from the box and inspected the cylinder for anything inside.

"I had a hard time initially in finding a good source for the Manurhin MR 73." Jack explained when Mark examined the Gendarmerie variant. "In this case, this was made recently again with a 4 inch barrel, adjustable sights and rubber-made grips."

"Perfect." Mark snapped the cylinder back and got a SOB-type holster from Jack, intended to fit the French-made revolver.

"I assume that the task force has no official name yet?"

"Not that I'm aware of."

"I'll leave you guys with the armorer. I need to make a quick call."

Marco excused himself and left the armory temporarily when he received a phone call from Sanchez. Whatever it is, it must be urgent.

At this point, all the characters will start getting their sidearms and/or special equipment. By the next post or so, we start with the task force's first case.

"These Glocks are nice, Jack," Mendoza said, picking one up and inspecting it, "But I always like having a backup, and you can never beat the classics - you have any M1911s?"

Ramon palmed the semi-auto pistol.

"Not bad. Can I call dibs?" the young hacker asked, with a mischeivous grin.

"Sure I do."

Jack kept one of the boxed Glock 17s since Mendoza asked for another sidearm. He then got out another box and opened it to reveal its contents.

"The task force got this recently. It's a Wilson Combat CQB Lightrail Lightweight pistol. Full size frame with a 5 inch barrel. It's chambered for .45 ACP with 8 rounds per mag."

He then pointed to three magazines included.

"That's 3 magazines, plus one already loaded in the pistol. The rail accessory's included so that you can attach a weaponlight or something similar."

Jack then went to address Ramon, being worried that he was a bit enthusiastic about getting his sidearm.

"Sure, I guess... Are you sure you're above 18?"

Marco had just ended his call when he started to run back towards the armory.

Apparently, whatever the director told him was pretty serious.

"All right." Jack sighed. "I just want to make sure that I'm talking to the right guy and everything, despite assurances from the army that you're 20."

The ex-JTF-2 then started to prepare the undercover raid jackets, holsters and the sidearms for distribution.

"Okay, so your weapons and your gear are ready. I believe you guys are going to get your issued mobile phones in a while. Hopefully those new Belgian bullets can take on anyone who's equipped with military or black market-grade prosthetic parts and all..."

Marco had just reached the sliding door to the armory when he hastily got his keycard out in order to gain access.

Mark went to position his SOB holster at the rear of his pants while he started to get the special hoslter meant to accommodate his PS-01 pistol.

"Turn the TV on, quick!"

Marco told Jack, who promptly turned on the HDTV mounted on the wall.

"What's up?" Mark asked Marco when he was finished holstering his sidearms.

"Bad news." Marco said as the group watched the news broadcast.

"In our top story, the Department of Justice has announced that several vehicles seized from a front company of the 14K are to be auctioned off to law enforcement..."

"This is bad news?" Mark raised an eyebrow. "Looks pretty fine to me."

"Not this one." Marco insisted. "Just wait..."

"We've just received word that Jim Leong, the son of well-known stockbroker Michael Leong, has been found dead at the Fort. According to statements from PNP officers on the scene, they said that a note was found on top of his body."

Jesus. Mark sighed.

"The note claims that Mr. Leong, currently a junior high school student at Xavier School, was a member of True Anonymous and that he died for his crimes. His immediate family and friends, even his teachers, rebuked the claims and insist that he was not a hacker at all. But rather, a quiet and well-behaved student."

Marco began to distribute several Iphone 7S phones to the task force.

"And these are?" Mark asked Marco.

"Our issued phones to everyone in the task force." Marco began to explain. "These are encrypted with the latest in security technology, so even the guys in True Anonymous can't hack us."

"I hope that's true."

"Allow me to explain the apps we installed." Marco pointed to six icons, which consisted of a computer scanner, a skyscraper, a microscope, a HD screen, an assault rifle and a wrench. "The first one is a scanner app, which scans any picture you take with the phone with our databases. Also includes the ones that links the PNP and the NBI with other LE agencies. You can make a request to scan a picture and compare it with Interpol databases if you have to."

"Go on."

"Next is for Headquarters. Naturally, you'll make contact with the chief since he'll be there or one of the new operator androids placed in the command center to answer your calls and vice versa. The third one is for our forensics division since they've got a direct connection with your team so that you can show them evidence photos from the crime scenes. The next one is for Technical Support. Either me or the other members of the division will be on hand to receive your calls."

"And this one?" Mark pointed to the app that had the assault rifle logo on it.

"That's for our own SWAT team, bomb disposal included. Use that if you need their presence when you're going to do a tactical response."

"Let me guess." Mark then told Marco. "The wrench icon meas for Maintenance?"

"Right on the mark, sir. You're catching on."

"Don't compliment me like that."

"Sorry, sir."

When the news broadcast ended, Sanchez's face appeared on the HD screen to see the team again.

"I trust that all of you are aware of the breaking news on television a while ago?"
