I'm going to guess this is a problem with the post timestamp code reading the time zone differently from the edit timestamp code.

The post timestamp changes to whatever time zone you have your profile set to. The edit timestamp is always in server time (which is Pacific Standard, GMT -7). The discrepancy has been brought up before.

The fix for this is to have one unified timezone system for all timestamps, not just for some. That would be a Query Wish issue.

I refer you to this post. For me, it shows as posted at 7:46:29 PM, edited at 4:46:59 PM of the same day.
This is something I've been noticing for a while. I suspect time zone settings are at fault. For reference I'm on EST, which is GMT minus 5.
