Sonic Boom - The new Sonic cartoon

For all the potential fandom war between the Sonic and pony fandoms it's probably a good thing that Equestrian Daily didn't report on this.

EqD banned anything Sonic-related, IIRC, after constant flare-ups in flaming whenever something Sonic-related showed up in their fan art roundups.

Meanwhile, sites like Sonic Retro have banned all talk of MLP:FiM for one reason or another.

The fanbases really hate each other. Depressing, because they're more alike than they'll ever be willing to admit.

That's probably at least partially why they hate each other (apparently).

So any idea which channel this is being pitched too, or indeed anything else other then the fact it exist in some shape or form?

I really hope this is true— it'd be great to see a new Sonic show on TV.

See, you use the word "fact" there when "rumor" would be more appropriate.

I thought the hints were a little more reliable then that, but fair enough.

Why don't the Sonic and MLP fandoms like each other? Besides the part that they both have horrible people in their community.

Because one likes disco while the other hates disco. BUT WHICH IS WHICH?

... I like both Sonic and MLP. And because its on my mind, Sonic may or may not have made a cameo of sorts in the latest MLP comic, which was drawn by Ben Bates (who does quite of bit of work on the Archie Sonic comics)

Haven't watched a Sonic cartoon since Sonic SatAM. Ah, the 90's...

I also like both. (Though I dont like Satam. Comics are better)

Now, here my theory why both fandoms hate each other: Because people compare them. So for example, Star Wars fans can just not care about ponies. But fans of loved and hated franchise about cartoon animals famous for annoying fanbase and overuse of rule 34, have to make it clear that they dont like that other franchise, and all that comparing just bugs them. So they hate to distance themselves from each other.

Well, if they can make Pacman cgi show, Sonic show isn't sounding too "Thats what they did in 90s, nobody does that anymore"

Granted, "can" doesn't mean "should."

Of course, the difference is that nobody really ever wanted a Pac-Man show in the first place.

We don't need a 5th Sonic cartoon, We already have 9 other Sonics to keep track of.

But only the comics are ongoing: that's Archie, Fleetway and The Comic if I'm not mistaken. That narrows the amount of Sonics to "keep track" of from 10 to 3.

Sonic has fallen out of the public consciousness over here; he's still around and has his fanbase, but compared to his Genesis and Adventure days he's pretty much gone.

A new cartoon in the west could reinvigorate the character in the public consciousness. People seemed to like his inclusion in Wreck-It-Ralph, so there could still be a younger market for Sonic the Hedgehog.

You can never have too much Sonic! HE. IS. JUST. TOO. .

Also, I know a few Sonic and Pony fans who get along real well. Me(Fi M) and my friend since Kindergarden(Sonic/SB), so it's more like the fans argue over "An eye for an eye" crap. It's just Rainbow Dash as a rodent-pig creature! GET LIVES!!!

Sonic The Comic is Fleetway Sonic. And it ended over a decade ago (Though there is a fanmade online continuation.)

oh haha. Just sayin' fans will be fans and need to get a grip.

So far, I think this is going in the "Teen titans GO!" direction: Take a good show with many qualities and re-create it with only it's comedy quality. I'm really looking forward to it if this exists.

I hope it's not like Teen Titans Go. That show is just so tryhard.

Still hoping for AOSTH-like stuff, assuming this even exists.

TTG might seem "Try hard", but it really is better than anything I can imagine.

And if it will feature AOSTH-themes, I wouldn't be suprised if this is a line.

Teen Titans Go is just a slap in the face to me. I loved the original show.

Meh. I like both, but that's just my opinion. Also, if you must complain about TTG, do it in the TTG thread.

I just wish we had another sign of proof that this exists.

If this is real, Sonic Boom better be the theme song.

If not, i'm going on a sonic-powered rampage jumping and running over people. Then ask nicely for them to change it.
