GODDAMN IT! I missed the space episode. It aired tonight.

Huh. I knew the show was airing episodes on Boomerang before CN, but I thought we weren't getting any new episodes until December 3rd.

Watching it now. Looks like I was wrong about it being a two-parter.

My god Sonic Boom, how did you make an episode about going into space so boring? There were no good jokes either.

D-. See me after class.

Spacemageddon- Where to begin, where to begin?

First off: Why was Eggman putting a satellite in space? What was the purpose besides it being a Chevoks Gun device?

Second, many of the jokes fell flat as hell. It just seemed like they were throwing anything they could at it and hoped it worked. I could only find enjoyment of calling it "The Ass" instead of asteroid.

Third, STOP USING KNUCKLES SO MUCH FOR (almost) EACH EPISODE! I get that I'm suppose to enjoy the idiot hero, but using him so often in episodes is the equivalent of asking for more Shadow in each new Sonic game.

But it was cool seeing Sonic swing Amy's hammer around to send the chunks of the meteor back into orbit.

I did think that Sonic taking up the Piko Piko Hammer was kind of neat.

Wow, I thought most of the jokes did work this time. And someone noticed that the Sticks in the mirror didn't have her blue irises, so... Maybe it's "Classic Sticks!" wink

[up]I noticed that, and wondered if maybe it meant that Sticks was actually right about her reflection being a doppleganger. But this doesn't seem to be the type of show to set up a joke in one episode and pay it off in a future episode.

Likely a jab at the part of the fanbase who made a fuss about Sonic having "dem durn green eyez" way back when.

But they wasted it on Sticks instead?

No, that was just a bad reference.

Or just an animation goof.

Season 2's shaping up no better so far. Jokes and action are still horrible, as is animation. Plots are better though.

It's noticeably better animation...

And the action in the Tommy Thunder episode was more elaborate than what we've usually seen in the past.

So...yeah. Not looking too good for the show so far.

It doesn't surprise me. Even without the channel hop, I wasn't seeing much hype for the second season, which makes me wonder if a lot of people just stopped caring about the show during the year long gap between seasons.

Honestly, the fact that it got a second season despite the mixed reception to the franchise and how much CN screwed it over is a miracle in of itself. I always thought a third season was extremely unlikely.

Damn. Not looking too good. I was sure this would hurt the show in someway.

All the action in Tommy Thunder was just Sonic smashing robots, like always.

And the animation doesn't look much better, still looks like cut-rate CGI.

Next week's episode is called "Nutwork", where Sticks, fed up about all the fluff news out there, starts a new network which speaks the truth. This could go both ways. The premise sounds like it could be funny, but Sticks annoys me like no other characters can, so it could be a lowlight.

It comes on tonight. And I think this also could go either way.

I mean, I'm hopeful it'll be good. I at least think Sticks is an alright character, and the idea of her putting her conspiracies out there for all to hear makes for an interesting (and humorous) premise.

"Nutwork" was pretty good. It was great to finally see Sticks be right about something for once. And seeing her sell out was pretty accurate on how they treat a lot of people in the media.

Plus, that "rap music" during the group riot was better than the usual boring action music. All in all, bland Sticks episode that didn't suck.

Isn't a shame that the Sonic franchise has reached a point where "It doesn't suck" is a compliment?

"Alone again, Unnaturally"

This is probably my favorite episode so far. Sonic breaking the speed limit and going into another plane of existence is something I thought Super Sonic could only do. Plus, Seeing Sonic being used as a test dummy was pretty funny since he rarely gets to be the Butt-Monkey. Not bad.

Saw Nutwork. It was a decent episode. The gilligan cut joke was nice. I liked the bit about Eggman's schemes lacking a clear motivation, although like the forth wall break at the end of last season, I can't help but feel like it's an admission that they're half-assing the show. Would've been funny if Sticks had a glob of toothpaste on her face for the entire episode.

When I saw the title card for "Along Again, Unnaturally", I thought the episode was going to have a joke about the excessive amount of sportstape on the characters. Nope, it was just the regular injury kind of bandage. I think the "blast processing" reference would've been funnier if they didn't point out that it's a load of nonsense. Then it would've just been a nice little in-joke for the longtime Sonic fans. It was nice to see Sonic actually enthusastic about something for once, and Tails risking his safety to rescue him after they played Sonic's earlier injuries for comedy was good to see.

I liked it. It actually felt like a proper Sonic cartoon.
