They did include this bit at the end of the post:
EDIT: Context for this post is that the above poster previously asked for context for a post comparing Doug Walker to a character named Mr. Peanutbutter.

x5 Well, Doug and Brad are going to a con together early April, and some former fans have already said they're going to ask him about the situation during the Q&A, so... we'll see.

Just a person. He/him.Forcing confrontation in such a hostile manner would be detrimental if your goal is to improve CA. A person with low self-esteem will likely react by simply retreating even further and feeling more like crap. And making Doug Walker feel worse about himself won't help anyone. It won't help CA, it won't help the people who are still a part of it, it won't help the former CA contributors, it won't help fans, and it won't help Doug Walker.
Asking questions in a respectful manner is a different story.
Disgusted, but not surprisedI was thinking more calmly asking him about his opinion of all this while he's not in a public situation (walking somewhere, etc).
"Resistant to change". Is that why the NC has been going on for all this time and the changes to it that WERE made all appeared to be caused by something other than Doug's own wishes (the Adpocalypse, copyrighted footage, money issues, new team members)?? Ugh.

Nothing conveys calmly like all caps, punctuated for emphasis :-P
I actually think Doug's been very good about balancing the amount of original skits with the old fashioned talking-in-front-of-a-white-wall-with-movie-footage reviews.
i think they might end up cancelling their appearance at this rate, they know people will be anything but nice to them now that this drama is in full swing
Least that's what I'd do in their shoe
New theme music also a boxSo what can make the company change for the better?
I mean Brad will likely still go. He's not named or really involved into any of this so it's both easy and fully justifiable for him to refuse to comment.
If that happens, their reputation is going to sink even lower. I somehow doubt their fans would appreciate that.

Disgusted, but not surprisedThey don't even need to cancel. Just make a panel with no Q&A.
From what I gather, the panels always have some sort of Q&A, so removing the opportunity for the fans to ask questions would be pretty telling and the optics would be awful.
Just a person. He/him.Yeah, if they always had them in the past and suddenly decided to not have them this time...it would not look good.
Disgusted, but not surprisedIt wouldn't surprise if Linkara was also uncomfortable with Dougs Sailor Moon episode, since he provided research for Doug, that Doug then blatantly ignored for no real reason except for the characters of Neptune and Uranus being lesbians.

Watch SymphogearThat really has been an issue for a while now, that he seems to invite people for collabs only to snarkily dismiss them in the review. It was maybe funny once or twice, but it comes off as really dickish. He's basically using his fellow contributors as butt monkeys in his skits.
Optimism is a duty.I mean he apparently couldn't even understand that Lindsay Ellis genuinely liked Moulin Rouge so he wrote her as only liking it as a guilty pleasure in their review of the movie. She tweeted about this a while back, I wanna say like a year or so ago?
Have you any dreams you'd like to sell?If I remember right, he wasn't even in that episode, right? So it is not like ignoring Linkara was a deliberate joke.
What is the story exactly? Did Doug ask Lewis for help and then just ignore it? I remember I found the episode kinda poorly done, as it focused on the formulaic aspect, even though this is a common thing in episodic shows, without being much specific. It felt like that joke could be about almost any other children show from the era. I thought Doug was just ignorant about the anime (not surprising, considering it is literally made for girls, thus not his demographics), but if he had the knowledge and just ignored it for cheap generic jokes, it is rather unprofessional.

IIRC, Linkara offered Doug to provide him with some info on the show but Doug decided not to so it wouldn't go in the way of the jokes.
Just a person. He/him.Yeah... Sailor Moon is perhaps the absolute worst episode Doug has ever produced.
To add insult to injury, he released the review around the time VIZ was making dubs of the NEW Sailor Moon anime, as well as a redub of the old show with the same dub cast! Respect for what the franchise stands for was at an all-time high during that time! And Doug STILL chose to ignore it?? He said he made it by demand of the fans (he was never into Sailor Moon growing up and only watched a few eps of the horrid DIC edit for the review), but there was clearly something wrong.
He frequently uses the excuse "but the actors liked it". Good for you, Doug. Now explain to us all the details of that little one-sentence argument you never elaborated upon. Just because one group of people who were distantly involved with the anime (actors are pretty much freelance, and never part of the production of a show), it doesn't mean everyone else has to agree with them.
My impression was that he only found out Linkara knew about all that stuff after the review was out, and Linkara approached him after that. Not that this happened before Doug made the review. If the chose to intentionally ignore his advice, that's pretty douchey mcnitpicky.
You are invited to anime conventions. ...
edited 25th Mar '18 3:15:36 PM by kyun
TBH, it's the conventions who decide to invite someone who has repeatedly said he doesn't watch anime. So clearly they are fine with it.
Anime conventions do plenty of non anime things.

Yeah, from what I've noticed, American anime cons cover pretty much all nerd stuff.
Also, Doug watches anime, he's just not as huge into it as Rob is.
edited 25th Mar '18 2:31:56 PM by Motyka5
Just a person. He/him.Rob even watched Little Witch Academia. :D
The problems with the Sailor Moon review as I've said before
A: He had ONE joke for the entire thing... "I'm sorry Officer, I swear she said she was 18!!!"
B: He really clearly put very little effort in researching the subject matter
Now Yes Said subject matter meant nothing to him personally... but you'd think Him doing a heavily requested Fan episode 'Which he himself said is why he did it' He'd log the time in... and don't say He can't cause Avatar and Korra say hi, I'm not even saying he had to watch the entire series... Maybe just up till the first Arcs conclusion... you know We start with Everybody dying and then we end with Everybody dying...sorry Captured by the Negaverse!!!
Basically Sailor Moon is him coasting through a 'review' and then being shocked people didn't like it. Its kinda like his Bart's Nightmare "Lets play" except without the acknowledge He really shouldn't have done it

I'm A Pervert not an Asshole!
Oh yeah, harrass people at convention. That's a brilliant idea.
