This review made me think how these days people develop strong negative feelings over bad movies, like Transformers or TMNT. They get all riled up about them like theyre the worst thing. Do you ever think that, in some sort of perverse Streisand Effect, they're actually inadvertently contributing to the success of those films? Do you think this movie would have been nearly as successful if nostalgic thirty year olds weren't making a shit about how awful it was going to be?
Game Theory recently did a video about how this could also occur in video games

... okay let's see what era of filmmaking is bad according to Doug. My guess is the 2000's films given his review of Daredevil.
-watches video-
.... okay so it was 1996-2001. And he's only talking about SUMMER movies. That's interesting. Wonder why those years in particular only had bad summer blockbusters.

When he was talking about why this trend ended, I'm surprised he didn't bring up how, due to certain events in 2001, Americans weren't so jazzed to see large buildings blow up anymore.
Good editorial. The summer blockbusters of 1996-2001 being bad was because of technology. They were introduced with CGI and the focus being on special effects. They ended with the internet and how everyone could talk about movies as soon as they came out.
Excellent point.
There are terrible summer blockbusters in every year; there were quite a few before and after the time period he discusses.
"They say I'm old fashioned, and live in the past, but sometimes I think progress progresses too fast."This is an on-going problem I have with Critic. Yes, he's a fictional character, but he always seems so confident and dead-set when expressing one of his opinions as if it is FACT, when it's just an opinion.
All critics express their opinion as fact at one point or another, otherwise they'd be tacking 'In my opinion' or 'I think' or 'In my experience' onto ever sentence.
Despite my screen-name, ranting to you about One Piece is not my top priority.Yes, there were quite a few terrible summer blockbusters before and after the time period he discusses but were they expected to suck?
I dunno, that time period is literally the first five years of my life. AKA that period of your life that you're never gonna remember.
They do have medals for almost, and they're called silver!Rob said that someone on Facebook correctly guessed the next review. :/ He alluded to how people need to think about "how a shell is used".
Also, Doug revealed he hates Fight Club.
The Little Mermaid!
...because shell bra?
Fight Club is pretty much a Love It or Hate It film, so I can't say I'm too surprised.

... Kyun, are you illiterate? He LITERALLY said he loves Fight Club.
Before that he says he's "one of the critics who hates this movie."
Which is it, Doug??
He says that the video shows his as a critic that hates Fight Club, and the the video is incorrect.
They do have medals for almost, and they're called silver! For fuck's sake...
The video he posted, had a clip of the Critic screaming and raving while the two narrators mentioned that critics in general didn't like Fight Club. Fucking pay attention and stop trying to find reasons to cry about how much Doug sucks now. That's all I see you do!

All he did was get confused this time, no hating on Doug.
Goodness, well I didn't watch the video, okay?
Still, people need to pay more attention.
That includes Doug himself considering reviews that could gone better had he actually paid attention.

I think people named BatDan might need to calm down, geez.
Kyun didn't even sound negative when he said that. If you're going to interpret every line of his as crying about Doug, of course that's all you're going to see him do.

Well, I think that the post itself makes the situation pretty clear:
Still, there's no reason to get upset about a simple misreading.
Oh God! Natural light!
Honestly, at this point I find a lot of the Michael Bay (and Adam Sandler for that matter) hatred to be overblown. A lot of people enjoy a movie you don't like, big whoop.
