I think either this could be split up or the examples redistributed to the tropes.

I think The President is as much of a trope as, say, Blue Blood. It's a broad trope, yes, but it's definitely tropeable.

Really from Jupiter, but not an alien.

So cut this and send examples to either The President, the tropes mentioned earlier, or create a separate page for some of the types?

How do we decide which types to keep and which to delete?

Keep the ones for which you can't find an already existing trope for.

We have Authority Equals Asskicking, The President's Daughter, Reasonable Authority Figure, many redundant to President Evil, Pointy-Haired Boss, Invisible President, and Historical Domain Character. Those that do not have authority-specific tropes are President Jerkass, President Lunatic, President Iron, President Focus Group, President Minority, President Playboy, President Geek, President Strawman, and President Mary Sue. Those already have tropes not specific to presidents.

The problem is which tropes to make that are specific to authority.

Looking at this again, President Strawman and President Mary Sue are really two different sides of the same coin.

Actually, I just realized that I misread the descriptions. It's more like President Mary Sue is The Same But More to the "good" version of President Strawman. I had already been against retaining it in any form, but that pretty much settles the question.

There's much support for Minority In Charge to become its own trope. Anything else?

I think President Action is distinct from Authority Equals Asskicking, actually, mainly because I think depicting an elected official in a modern or futuristic setting as a skilled combatant carries very different connotations from depicting a medieval king as a skilled combatant.

I'm wondering if this might actually make more sense as a Special Efforts project, given that we could be creating several new tropes.

"Short Term Project" project, and I worry that it will be forgotten if moved over there.

[up]It's been kind of forgotten already. And moving it would free up TRS space.

I think this would involve a lot of example moving and YKTTWing which would slow the thread greatly.

That is an inherent problem with any repair, whether in TRS or Short Term.

The only thing I can propose here is to start with the YKTTW and split-work here. I am no good at YKTTW however.

I can try, but I think I would have trouble keeping an eye on it.
