Disney Movies we associate with certain events

We all know that Disney has made holiday specials in the past (Halloween specials/movies, Christmas specials/movies, Easter specials/movies, etc...) but what about the movies that we associate with other times of the year based on what it shows?

For me, when i watch "Aladdin and the King of Thieves" i think about the month of June

Reasons;

1. Aladdin and Jamsine are having a wedding - Most weddings usually happen in June

2. The whole plot of the movie revolves around Aladdin's relationship with his father - Father's day, nuff said.

3. This movie marks the end of the Aladdin series (both TV and movie) and it really emphasises that fact - The last Day of School/Graduation

Anything anyone else wants to add?

Pocahontas I associate with white people coming to America and stealing the Native Americans' lands and forcing them all into corners until they died.

I hear some people look at the climactic battle of Lilo & Stitch and see how it was made Lighter and Softer in response to 9/11 attacks.

I can't think of any but I like your "Aladdin and the King of Thieves" June thing. I wonder if they did that all on purpose. Do you have any more for us?

Disney movies are usually released around the Holiday Season?

I guess I associate Monsters Inc with the last day of school, since back then my primary school used to take students to the cinema to watch a movie, and we ended up watching Monsters Inc before its official release because there were no other films appropriate for our age or something like that, if Pixar counts.

Holy Grail, huh? Cool story, bro.

I just know I'm going to wind up associating Monsters University with my own college life. Having just finished my first year, this movie could not have had better timing.

Well, I suppose I can say Toy Story 3 coincided with the year I went off to college, so for me and my friends (and others in the same school year) it ended up having even more of an impact than for others.

Wreck-It Ralph and the Apocalypse, since I watched it at 12/21/12.

I didn't see it in theaters (shock gasp), so I don't immediately associate it like a lot of my friends do. However, I saw it shortly after moving in to college, and yeah, the feeling is basically mutual.

I associate Wreck It Ralph with my life from the very begining when I first played a video game which was Super Mario Bros 3 to the modern present day as a gamer.

"Transform and Roll out!" Optimus Prime

Wreck-It Ralph somewhat ignited my interest in retro gaming. I even have a few of those games on my mobile phone now, and I usually go to a bar/arcade in the Fall, when the movie was released.

Also my birthday is in the Fall, and many big movies are released at that time anyway. Aladdin was released on Thanksgiving, and is the only Disney film I saw 3 times in theaters (though it helped that the movie stayed in theaters for almost 2 years straight).

Cars was released around the time I graduated school in the hot summer, so I want to learn to drive finally!

The Great Mouse Detective reminds me of water, for some reason.

An Extremely Goofy Movie and Toy Story 3 with going off to college. Monsters University will do that too, since it comes out the day after I graduate.

The Emperor's New Groove made me realized that I like fourth-wall humor, llamas, and David Spade all at once.

For me it was a combination of that and Sheep In The Big City. Well, less so with the llamas and David Spade, that's all yours. I did like him in Tommy Boy, though.

The worst thing I can say about the Spade/Farley movies was that they were basically interchangeable in almost every way. Tommy Boy, Black Sheep, that other one I can't remember...

The Hunchback Of Notre Dame always makes me think about awesome Latin chanting, and more or less is the single source of my interest in gothic architecture. Planning on taking a long vacation to France someday to see the cathedrals (especially Amiens and Notre Dame de Paris) and drive along the Way of Saint James. Didn't care for the gargoyles, except I remember connecting the fat one, Hugo, with the hurricane of the same name.

But that's a story for another time.

Honestly, Tommy Boy is the only David Spade movie I've actually seen, and only because I caught it on cable once when there was nothing else on.

Yeah, the only other David Spade movie I can remember is Dicky Roberts.

I saw Tommy Boy in math class once. A student just walked up to the VCR and hit play, and since the teacher was bored, she just let us watch whatever it was. And it happened to be Tommy Boy.

With a few exceptions, Disney sequels (the ones that actually take place after the events of the last movie) make me think about the future. Because they portray a time when things have gotten better since the events of the last movies

Hi everyone, new troper here and this my first post on this discussion.

This week I started to associate The Princess and the Frog with spring, due to movie's central color being of course green, most of the movie taking place at the lush green swamp, colors of main characters (sans Charlotte, sorry Lottie) who as mentioned on the movie's fridge page reflect the Catholic liturgical calendar with Easter taking place during the spring and after the Mardi Gras during which the film takes place (don't mentioning that it also takes place in the heavily Catholic New Orleans), Tiana's voice actress performing a song in Bambi II, another Disney movie heavily associated with spring and Woodland Critters attending Tiana's and Naveen wedding at the swamp. The fact that this week is Easter (not to mention that I'm writing about it on Holy Saturday), and it is a holiday that I associate with spring, also helps.
