Tegami Bachi/Letter Bee

I forget how I found this series, but it looks really interesting! Has anyone else read or seen it? For some reason it reminds me of +Anima.

I've been meaning to watch this (though I have a lot of anime on my plate as it is), but I am surprised somebody made a thread without watching it.

Yes, I'd say it's good. Can't speak for the anime, but I like the manga. Off the top of my head:

• The setting is interesting. Amberground is a world shrouded in darkness, the only light coming from a small artificial sun, and it's populated by HEART-eating bugs. It's such a crappy place you need elites to deliver the mail. Yes, the Letter Bees are mailmen, who just so happen to have to fight for their lives while doing so.
• And yet, as with any good story about a crapsaccharine world, the bugs might not be the only things the humans have to deal with...
• The story revolves around HEART. The bugs eat HEART. The Letter Bees kill the bugs with HEART. The people who lose their 'HEART become empty shells; if you're lucky to have some left over you might just be looking at memory loss. It sounds cheesy, but it works.
• Gorgeous art.
• Awesome names: Lag Seeing, Jiggy Pepper, Lily Confort, GAUCHE SUEDE, DR THUNDERLAND JR—

yeah, but it's been a year since any chapters were scanlated, just as it was getting REALLY good. (actually, it's all awesome, but the most recent chapters really turn Up To Eleven)

According to Amazon, all of the anime is out on DVD and Volumes 14 and 15 of the manga will be released soon.

as long as viz don't do too many creative edits.

i mis jacscans i don't get why they've gone silent. (they have a forum, but you have to join to read the threads, and the join function is inactive)

It looks really good ^^ I like the concept of Heart, and the art style! Makes me want to send more physical letters.

Would you guys recommend the anime or the manga? Both look worth picking up.

I liked +Anima quite a lot, so since this reminds someone of it for some reason, I might check it out.

I generally prefer the manga as its storyis more complete, but I hear the anime is its own beast.

There's certainly some tonal similarities.

I found out that the anime removes a character who dies in the manga D:

New chapters out.

58, 59 are mediocre translations

60 is clearly google translate

61 is a real tear jerker.

roda is really roda the dog, plus some woman, plus a flower, and trying to not break from the old memories, and lag sees her naked, massively scarred, but nicely shaped body

Lloyd is a baws (boss)

Garrard is pretty awesome too.
