Myouren Gakuen (Monstergirl Highschool)

Hitomi's strategy of running around and shouting at student to join the Drama club wasn't the rousing success she had thought it would be; in fact, it seemed to be turning the other girls off to the idea altogether. She stopped running for a few moments to scratch behind her ear and contemplate why.

I don't get it. I thought for sure I had that angel girl... I mean, she didn't turn away immediately... Hmm...

She looked around at all of the other clubs that were advertising. The two things she noticed were: 1) Their representatives were standing in one spot, and 2) They all had signup sheets. "That's it!" she cried, snapping her fingers. "I need forms!" Her ears drooped for a moment when it occurred to her that she wasn't wen sure where the Drama club was set up, but then she remembered seeing stacks of forms at the Student Council's area. "Tentacle girl," she said to herself as she made her way to the Student Council's station.

Upon her arrival, she noticed that the Student Council seemed to have expanded by one, as now there was an angel manning the post as well as the "tentacle girl". She strolled up to them both, and for the first time this afternoon, remembering her manners, politely bowed to the two. "Hiya," she remarked with a polite wave, "Are you using those forms? I need some so I can sign people up for Drama Club."

Before she could get an answer from Sakura about friendship or the Student Council's functions, the canine girl came up. The very same one whom had been running around promoting the drama club. Contrary to her rather overt display moments earlier she acted quite politely. Kasumi slowly turned to look at her with an annoyed expression that quickly faded. She had nearly swooped down to accept this girl's open invitation, but it hadn't been personal enough. Was this the chance to rectify that oversight?

"I am not certain," she responded coldly, then took a step forward while gazing with rather unnerving intent at Hitomi, "You are the drama club? Was that invitation earlier directed at me?"

"Hey, calm down," Sakura admonished, tentacle resting heavily on the angel's shoulder, "She's only asking for forms, there's no need to be so aggressive."

Another offered some of the spares to Hitomi, displaying just how much they could stretch.

Kasumi's balance visibly shifted at the sudden addition of weight on her shoulder. She glanced to the Student Council president with incomprehension. Had there been something inappropriate about her reaction to Hitomi's arrival? The angel honestly didn't see anything wrong with it but apparently Sakura took some issue.

"I was merely trying to discern if she was speaking to me," the angel replied, "An invitation was extended, but I am hesitant to accept if I was not personally included in it."

"... Eh?"

Akane blinked. Well, that was certainly straightforward. She didn't really mind, obviously, but she wasn't entirely used to people outright asking to be her friend. This didn't bother her, but it was still a bit surprising. Akane was really more used to people asking about the whole succubus thing, really. "Well, friendship tends to be the result of people getting to know each other... but you seem pretty nice! And, well... it would be nice to have someone else helping with recruiting."

She smiled at the kappa girl.

Sasaki's reaction to the question sure made Mizu feel dumb, she knew that it was a bit too early to be asking her to be her friend, but having a friend at school would be so nice that she really wanted to hurry it up. At least she took it well, but not enough to not make the situation awkward for the kappa.

"I-I know, it's just that I really wanted to make new friends here and... You look nice too, you seem a bit nicer than what I've heard of other succubus and I thought we would get along well. But thanks for the compliment, Sasaki-san!" said Mizu, bowing to the succubus and of course spilling quite a bit of water in the process "Oops!" she said as she bolted up again and hits herself softly in the head and sticking her tongue out playfully.

The figure, being none other than Sally Summers, failed in this attempt utterly and loomed with all the ominousness of a excited puppy. The fact that it looked like her fingers were attempting to braid themselves together did not exactly add an air of mystique to her appearance.

The young vampire fidgeted and stared out into the sunshine drenched day with the same expression of someone staring at the date of a particularly painful dentist appointment. Why couldn't it be overcast? Just once in her life, Sally wished the world would stop trying to set her on fire.

Peering out over reflective sunglasses, she looked for anyone she might actually recognize. Wait, was that a bird or a person with wings? Oh she hoped it was a person with wings and not a pigeon. Pigeons hated her. What about that girl. Wasn't she in the drama club? One of them had ambushed her earlier and press-ganged her into joining.

Maybe she should go engage in polite social interaction.

Sally looked once more at the sky.

Or.. not. Not was good.

"Ah... ah-hah-hah..."

So Mizu had been a bit worried about the whole succubus thing? Internally, Akane felt a little disheartened. She was pretty aware of how other succubi... were, but they weren't really that bad, were they? Well, aside from the whole... perversity... and... seduction, and...

Red began to fill Akane's cheeks, growing in intensity. Immediately, she shook her head and quickly went about distracting herself from that line of thought. "Well, succubi are just like anyone else. They can act however they want. And I'm already getting along with you, I was just surprised by the sudden question."

Whew, catastrophe averted! Certainly, Akane could control herself, but a succubus had a predisposition to... certain lines of thought, and those lines of thought caused certain things that Akane wanted to avoid very much.

"Now, if you want to help, you can take some of the fliers and try and get people's attention."

Hitomi drew back from the angel's question. "Whoa! I...well, yeah. It was directed at anyone in earshot, really...." She scratched behind her ear again. "I mean, it was directed at anyone who was in earshot and attended this school. That's you, right?" She chuckled nervously as she took the forms. Suddenly, a familiar scent caught her. She grinned as she remembered that it was the same scent of the other she got to join.

Turning around and spying Sally, she yipped excitedly. "Hey! C'mere!" She turned her attention back to the angel, seeming to completely forget how she'd been intimidate before. "If you join the Drama Club, you'll get to hang out with us!" she said, motioning to Sally with an outstretched hand. "Won't that be cool?"

She held out the stack of forms she just received. "I even have forms now!"

Mizu noticed that she seemingly had made Sasaki saddened with her comment, somehow, did she have problems with other succubus and didn't like to be compared to them? Or was it something else? In any case, it pained her a bit to know she already made a possible friend sad in their first meeting, she decided to let the topic die and move on, she then went to pick some fliers

"All right! So I should stick some of the fliers on the walls and hand some to others while getting their attention? It seems fun." said Mizu, giggling rather excitedly.

For some reason the wolf girl reacted poorly to Kasumi's initial questioning, almost afraid even. The angel was confused by this. She was asking a simple question, not trying to frighten or intimidate anyone. Perhaps Sakura had been right about her tone not being proper. Clearly she had much to learn about the correct way to interact with other girls.

Then much to her surprise and relief Hitomi changed courses and pressed on with her recruitment pitch. A statement to all students at the school was not a personal invitation so far as Kasumi could discern. Now Hitomi was specifically inviting her to come hang out with the drama club. At first Kasumi's expression was dubious and questioning - this quickly melted away into her second smile of the afternoon.

"If you truly wish me to be a member of your club, I would love to accept," she answered, then glanced to Sakura, "So long as I can still work on the Student Council at the same time."

"Ah, well... really, I always felt the best way to get new members was to hand out fliers, and talk to people face-to-face," replied Akane. The blush wasn't going away! It was still coloring her cheeks. It might cause questions and questions might raise those lines of thought that made her cheeks flush in the first place, and Akane didn't want that!

Succubi were naturally susceptible to blush-inducing lines of thought. It was just how they were.

"I won't stop you if you want to put fliers on the walls, though, but I just like handing them out better."

Keeping on the subject at hand, Akane felt the heat in her cheeks start to lessen. Good.

Sally reached for her parasol, snapped it open and edged into the sunlight. No crackling so far.

Creeping up near the other drama club girl, she looked at all assembled and tried a friendly smile.

What she managed would likely have frightened serial killers.

Mizu then starts giggling "You look cute when blushing, sorry if I made you embarrassed." she said, with a friendly smile stamped on her face "So, I'm going to hand them out and put some on the walls just so that more people see it, later!"

The kappa then waved and walked away, carrying a few fliers with her with a very cheerful disposition.

Akane took a deep breath, the redness fading from her cheeks. Whew, that was... well, not close, nothing actually embarrassing had happened, but it still had the potential to get a bit awkward. But it hadn't, and that was good. No, things had gone well! She'd gotten a new member and everything!

The succubus waved to the kappa as she walked away. "See you!"

Then, she picked up her fliers. There was another person that seemed like a good candidate for joining the Cooking Club. At least if what Akane had heard about her was correct.

It was only a short way to the Student council table. There were some other students around, but Akane wanted to talk to the tentacled girl at the table in particular.

"Kumashiro-san," Akane began, putting on a cheerful smile and holding up a flier, "I'd like to talk to you about the Cooking Club!"

"The Student Council isn't an exclusive club, though I do expect it to take precedence when there are events and budgets to organise," Sakura said cheerfully, blinking a few times when the cooking club girl ran up to her. Odd, why was she approaching right now?

"Umm... yes? You haven't run out of fliers, and it's a bit early to be talking about budgets, so... what do you need to talk about?"

"Well..." Akane took a deep breath, then firmly presented the flier to Sakura with a warm smile. She was going to do her best to sell this! It would be a big help if the student council president was in the cooking club, and she had heard that the betentacled girl was a good cook. So, why not try to get her to join? Akane truly could not think of any reason against it.

"I'm here to see if you would like to join the cooking club!" Akane delcared.

"Yaaaawn.." Natsumi gets out of bed. "I feel like i'm forgetting something she says as she's getting dressed. "Oh right I was supposed to recruit people today.... I WAS SUPPOSED TO RECRUIT PEOPLE TODAY!" She screams. "Gotta hurry Gotta hurry! No time for stairs gotta find a quicker way down. WINDOW! PERFECT!" She jumps out the window and falls to the ground four stories below. "Ow. Gotta hurry, Gotta hurry." She rushes to the Anime Appreciation clubs recruitment spot as quickly as a slime possibly could. "Am I late?" she asks gasping for breath. "Eh. Nobody's here. Am I early?"
