Saw this movie on Sunday

To quote a friend of mine on another forum

I'm not trying to say this is the greatest movie ever made...but this was the greatest movie ever made.

I never thought that I'd actually anticipate the next F&F movie. They have turned a mediocre series about cars into exciting action movies with a canon which rewards you for watching the past installments.

Can't believe us three are the only ones who saw and enjoyed the movie. (sniffles)

Also you guys also agree this was the most boss fight scene bit?

Amazing that a series could Grow the Beard starting at the 5th installment. I love every single one of them (though the third is easily the worst - hopefully the 7th will redeem it somewhat) and this did not disappoint. The characters have built up to the point where we genuinely care for them, and the shift from car film to action film really, really worked.

This is a series that by all rights should have been a Franchise Zombie or outright dead in the water after the second one. Did that happen? Hell fuck no.

Fast and Furious is still running strong in the box office. Well for now. At least until "This is The End" comes out.

Going to see the film later on today.

Just watched it.

And what a stinger! Poor Han. My friends and I were expecting Giselle to show up. We got Jason Statham instead...]

Watched it and the most memorable part for me is.. not from the movie itself.

We all know the stunt that Dom pulled off to save Letty in mid-air, right? That part by itself did get some disbelief chuckle out of the audiences. However after they crashed into the conveniently placed car and emerged unharmed from that, a girl (or at least I think the voice belonged to a girl) seated somewhere behind me yelled "FILM!!!!" (as in that only happened in film) and everyone burst out laughing and keep on giggling for a good minute or two.

Man, talk about unintentional comedy, or not? Hard to tell with this series how much is serious.

I came into the theater expecting more of the same like Fast 5. What I got.....was a movie that managed to improve in every conceivable way.

The action was more intense while managing to put even more emphasis on the cars. The humor was great, and managed to come out almost non-stop. The attempt at tying the other films together was very well done, and succeeded in giving the movie more depth.

Sure, there are several ridiculous moments, and the twist towards the end really doesn't make all that much sense when you stop to think about it, but it does enough right that I was able to get past it. I can't really believe I'm saying this, but I can't wait for Fast 7.

Someone must have disturbed the space-time continuum or something. How else do you explain that F&F has become a good series instead of a bargain bin DTV-regulars?

Did anyone else get a Robot Wars vibe from that car with the flipper? Whenever it was on screen I kept imagining Jonathan Pearce's commentary. "Oh, if only Roman Pierce's car had a SRIMECH - a Self R Ighting MEC Hanism, it could have been so different!"

Definitely the F&F version of Chaos Two. Maybe Firestorm 3.

The theater I was in went wild when the Stinger ended. I personally was not expecting that reveal [awesome]

Anyone else?

So I saw this today. (The first F&F I've seen since the first and that was years ago) and it was a lot of fun.

And I want to watch the previous films now. And the tease for 7 was awesome

[up] The 5th is the best in the series, the others are still worth watching. I hope that they manage to make the rest of 3 less of a gaiden film, somehow. As is, it's a bit jarring that Han is the only connection to the series.
