It's a THQ redux.

One of the prime properties: Rollercoaster Tycoon.

EA must have already got their necromatic claws onto it.

Why would EA want them anyway? I doubt they would do anything with them.

Also, you made same joke as my friend made :P About EA buying them.

But yeah, this is probably only change that proper Star Control 3 would get made, but it will probably be bought by non original creators.

No, I was wrong. Atari still owns them.

Just told Brad Wardell (prez of Stardock):

Atari is auctioning off its assets. You know what to do.

Master of Orion. Master of Magic. "Minor assets"

Go get it, boy.

[up]That would be a good thing. I haven't heard too much about Stardock screwing over their gamer community.

Atari has requested that some of its assets be sold outside of the auction process, on the grounds of their "minor value."

That probably includes Master Of titles.

Missed the Elemental: War of Magic disaster?

As for Stardock and Master of Magic, there's a long history there.

Brad has coveted Master of Magic for a long, long, long time.

From Wikipedia:

Further prospects of a sequel surfaced with the announcement that companies, Quicksilver Software and Stardock, had obtained the rights to undertake such a venture. These companies were unable to reach an accord with Atari's, as the latter negotiated complete control of the software's marketing. Game Informer reported in 2007 that Stardock aimed to release a remake of Master of Magic in 2009.[28] However, a Stardock employee, Aaron Rister, clarified in the company's own forums that Game Informer was a mistaken reference to a 2010 game Elemental: War of Magic.

I know this because I was talking to Brad about ideas on how to deal with Master Of Magic II. And also other ideas on re-releasing MOM native to the current OS at the time with better looking tiles.

So speaking of Master of Magic, I didn't know that this existed.

...Atari makes/made Rollercoaster Tycoon? Huh. Never knew that. But, then I never cared enough about that game to really learn these things.

Atari isn't Atari. It's actually Infogrames, which bought the name Atari. Literally, In Name Only.

Well, Rollercoaster Tycoon 1 and 2 were Infogrames (and Hasbro, which owned Atari at the time.) Then Infogrames became Atari, and released 3.

[up]I don't remember ever seeing the Infogrames logo anywhere near RCT 1. I do remember seeing Hasbro and Microprose, though.

Well, I'll be glad if Atari disappears.

Is Test Drive going to anyone? Does Eden Games still exist, and, if so, are they going to get sold as well or be shut down?

Actually why not just hand the Roller Coaster Tycoon property back to hasbro?
