I seocnd that.
I wouldn't doubt that there are some fans who felt that the dub ruined Gurren Lagann.
"Analay, an original fan character from a 2006 non canon comic. Do not steal!"No dub ruins a show of anything! The original is still there!
Still, I watched the dub version of TTGL along time ago and TTGL was/is amazing.
"Analay, an original fan character from a 2006 non canon comic. Do not steal!"I'd say Dubbed Kamina isn't nearly as good as the original, but everything else is fine.
Not Gurren Lagann.
I've seen quite a few split opinions on that dub, mostly concerning Kamina (I think it's fitting, others think it's not manly enough). A better example is Cowboy Bebop or Baccano.
I didn't really care for what I heard of the TTGL dub, personally.
I rarely feel entirely comfortable with most dubs if I'm honest, even if I'm not exactly the best judge of the quality of JP va's either. as an example, i'd still rather watch cowboy bebop and bacanno subbed than dubbed.
No one can be the best judge of quality when it comes to JP VAs unless they speak bloody Japanese, period.
For example, the only reason why I don't liek Saturn's voice in the Sega Girls anime is because she sounds so whiny to me. It's annoying.

To pity someone is to tell them "I feel bad about being better than you."Kamina's a terribly difficult, nuanced, demanding role.
Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.I prefer dubs whenever possible and whenever they're decent enough. I'm not a purist that says one's inherently better than the other. Subbing has it's own translation problems.
I'm just now trying to get into subs. It's a lot to get accustomed to.
"No will to break."I've honestly found some dubs arguably better than the original when they're willing to alter things to make them more accessible. Steins;gate's English dub is a good example here, the cast is fantastic and a lot of the references have been rewritten to be more Western. YMMV on if that's a good thing, but personally I like a time travel show that's willing to mock Doctor Who.
deviantArt | Twitterpersonally I like a time travel show that's willing to mock Doctor Who.
You know the most hilarious thing about those two or three scenes? It's a Self-Deprecation — the main ADR writer (and Okabe's VA) is a Whovian. :p
Picture on the youtube is kinda NSFW, but this is Kill La Kill. Thought the mashup was pretty awesome.
So I finished watching this show yesterday on Netflix {Which just has the sub}. It's insane, but in the best possible way. I love the comedy and the main characters, and the fanservice is down-right ridiculous to the point of hilarity, which I bet is the point.
Anyway, I have a question. What's your guys opinions on the dub? I've only seen a couple clips, but the voices seem to be okay except for Senketsu {Though I only heard his voice in the trailer for the dub, so that might not be the best indicator}.
The dub's been excellent. I don't think I've heard a single unfitting voice. Or even a questionable delivery. One of the best I've heard in a while.
Dub is mighty solid so far. Senketsu still sounds a bit too high-pitched, but that's really it.
To pity someone is to tell them "I feel bad about being better than you."The Dosh King has a new theme!
Here's a little exercise for you all. If there is a UNIQLO clothes store near your home, pop over and read their marketing blurbs (or visit their website).
Clearly UNIQLO is the real world's REVOCS on a smaller scale.
The three finest things in life are to splat your enemies, drive them from their turf, and hear their lamentations as their rank falls!Decided to binge on the dub; it's still pretty amazing, especially Nonon. "YOU STINKIN BIIIIITCH" so fierce. And Senketsu no longer sounds too much like Jin, makes watching it easier.
Sadly, I'm at the low point of the series.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.I didn't think Uniqlo was a thing outside of Japan.
To pity someone is to tell them "I feel bad about being better than you."Uniqlo is popular in the USA. There are several in all major cities.
Its' times like now where I wish Uniqlo would've cashed in on the theme of clothing from Kill La Kill. Of course, that may HARM their sales instead of improving it though.

There is an obvious reason as to why it might be and I am not talking about how the clothes are sentient either.

"Analay, an original fan character from a 2006 non canon comic. Do not steal!"That place is known to put cartoons on some of their clothing too, and some of them are anime, so it isn't far off a possibility.
...except Washington, DC, apparently.
To pity someone is to tell them "I feel bad about being better than you."I seriously wonder whether Trigger was poking fun at Uniqlo's marketing
@Kyun: I'd buy a UNIQLO Goku Uniform.

I don't know if I believe that.
