Nothing beats Cars 2's opening though.

I admit I can't complain too much about the sequel run, if it wasn't for it some of the theatrical movies wouldn't have been made, Toy Story 2 and The Tigger Movie were both at one point going to be DTV until Disney decided to boost them.

Mulan 2 should be called Character Derailment: The Movie. From Mulan to Mushu, every character wasn't themselves or were degraded for a dry plot that hammered in a stupid message of arranged marriages are bad even though the first movie had Mulan prepared to enter into one. Mushu and Mulan were really the Designated Heroes in that movie, with Mushu being a selfish jerk will to break up a relationship to keep his job and Mulan willing to let China go into danger so that three princesses don't have to be married off.

I mean her characterization in this movie contradicts her previous depiction of being a very dutiful person, when in here she follows her heart to the point it makes her idealistically stupid.

[up] Oof. That's actually pretty nasty.

But on the upside, that movie's rendition of "A Girl Worth Fighting For" was pretty hilarious:

Well I have to say, based on today, I'm cranky.

I'll just spend my life with you two. Pass the hanky.

I think even as a middle schooler I thought the Mulan sequel was less to be desired, and hated this characterization of her.

That's certainly a good way of getting an action opening.

[lol]

I could think of a better premise for the sequel than Disney. It could have had Mulan still focus on her budding relationship with Shang, but they go off to challenge supernatural forces in contrast with the human invading forces of the last movie.

So, what role are the Princesses going to play in their appearance in the movie, as cool as that is?

Knowing the characters involved, it's probably going to be a Shrek-esque parody sort of thing - Vanellope does the whole "I'm to cool to be a Princess" thing at the end of the first one, and I wouldn't be surprised if her interaction with the Princesses this time is a "you guys are lame" scene.

Possibly followed by a scene in which the Princesses prove that they are not, in fact, lame.

It sounds like it'll just be that one scene when they visit the Disney website. Honestly, it sounds a bit cheesy to me but I guess if there was a movie to be filled with cameos it's definitely Wreck-It-Ralph.

[up]They describe the scene in the article. It's pretty much exactly that: Vanellope thinks they look snooty and goes to mess with them, they all pull out weapons and explain their backstories, and after Vanellope explains hers they invite her to their sleepover and once she's there she decides they're cool after she gets to know them.

Also that Disney Toon Studio film coming out in 2019 is another Cars spinoff.

I would have personally preferred a theatrical realease of a 2D animated movie based on one of the shows now playing on Disney XD, but I guess a third Cars spinoff movie will do. *Sigh*

Are they going to reference that Mulan isn't a princess yet actual princesses like Kida are excluded from the line?

I kind of disappointed that Disney decided to not make any more sequels to The Sword In The Stone since Disney + King Arthur mytho can only produce good movies.

Is any part of Wreck-it Ralph 2 going to be about Wreck-it Ralph?

While I enjoyed Wreck-it Ralph immensely, I found it a little annoying that the film after a bit almost felt (to me, anyway) more about Vanellope than Ralph himself. I recognize that in the case of this film, the two plots become inextricable. Ralph has to help Vanellope in order to become a hero, and help himself, etc. So it's fine. If the sequel is going to be primarily about Vanellope, though, then they should just name the film after her.
