Seeing as how page 2 only has 2 posts, I don't think the bug is quite out of the system.

I'm still trying to think of a character.

And no despite my avatar I'm not playing a Homestuck character. I'm not that desperate.

Hey Doctor Thunder and everyone who I obviously know from Past/Current R Pings.tongue

It's amazing to see MMFRPG finally coming back to life and I just can't wait. This has seriously been one of the best RP series I've ever participated in, after all. I'm thinking, once sign up sheets are up again and everything, that I'd like to reprise my much earlier Season 3 role as Travis Touchdown again, if that would be alright.

Also what's going on with the thread? Are posts actually missing or what cuz for some reason it says 56 when...it doesn't look much like that from my end...

We were trying to post a recap of the previous seasons so that we could link to that when we make the signup thread rather than drowning new people under a wall of text, but it didn't work. The forum just sort of kept eating posts, because TV Tropes apparently decided to have a stroke. tongue

@ Lightdark - That shouldn't be an issue, although I do seem to remember Travis vanishing out of the story for a while. Are you planning on retconning him out of the first half of Season 3, or what?

The Story So Far

Season 1: A mysterious figure named 'The Troper' pulled a bunch of people into a city he had created, and kept them there for a few weeks mostly just to be an asshole. Unfortunately [what a tragedy], the thread for Season 1 was lost, and only one of our current G Ms was involved in the first season, and he mostly just convulses whenever we ask him about it. So we don't really know many specific details about it. What we do know is that the Troper was eventually confronted and, while ultimately not defeated, he agreed to send all the city-dwellers back to their home worlds. It was also revealed that the Multiverse is overseen by a group of 50,000 identical sisters known as the Trope-tans. It is, in fact, perfectly acceptable to laugh or roll your eyes at this part, because if there was any way for us to change what they looked like or what they were called by this point without a massive retcon, we would have done so a long time ago.

Anyway, their name are numbers, which feeds into most of them having a very collectivist mindset, and they tend to stay neatly within their self-designated role as observers, rather than attempting to intervene in situations which threaten the Multiverse. The sister with the most personal contact with the group was #19450, one of the few sisters who decided to take a more proactive role in saving the Multiverse.

Season 2: A year later, 100,000 other people are pulled into a second city by someone originally thought to be the Troper again. This city, oddly enough, had an enormous roulette wheel in the center, which would spin and then light up in order to determine how the city's layout and composition would change from day to day, causing the people within to constantly face new challenges. It also reacted violently whenever anyone attempted to damage or even touch it, and eventually the group just decided to leave it alone. Any injuries and the like would be healed at sunrise on each day, and this miraculously included returning the dead to life. However, this rule did not apply to those who actively sought to harm the party, strangely enough.

A few days into their stay, the mysterious figure meets with them to attempt to explain its reasons for bringing them into its city, and is immediately forced to defend itself as the party wastes literally no time in attacking relentlessly. This would set an amusing but unhelpful precedent for how most of these attempts at diplomacy would turn out for most of the season.

After a week inside this new city, however, they managed to temporarily break free from the city with #19450's aid, only to discover that the mysterious figure was #666, another of #19450's sisters. The party managed to overpower her in combat and defeat her there, but she escaped back to where she had controlled the city and began to heal herself, and because of the great injuries the party had suffered as a result of the battle, they were forced to return to the city to take advantage of the automatic rejuvenation they knew they would receive there. Again, oddly enough, nearly killing #666 did not stop this from being possible. They also learn, however, that killing #666 will not actually kill her, but rather will cause her to be shunted far away from the city for a few days, where she can recover and then return. This is apparently something all Trope-tans are able to do, which meant that in order to stop her, they would need to deal with her non-lethally.

The party was eventually told that #666 had kidnapped the Troper and used him to power the roulette in the center of the city, much to the group's surprise. But after they had spent some more time within the city, #666 actually offered the group a truce, and even held a party for them in order to explain why she'd kidnapped them in the first place: It was all for the sake of an experiment; an experiment for the betterment of the entire Multiverse. She was dissatisfied with her sisters' detached and at times apathetic stance on the problems and threats to the Multiverse, to the point that most of them never even attempted to save lives or resolve conflits, often just taking notes as whole universes burned to the metaphorical ground. Her experiment aimed to study how people from all over the Multiverse would band together to help each other, as well as to develop individual strategies for the betterment of all worlds.

This explanation failed to satisfy the group, and through sheer force, they managed to once again defeat #666, forcing her to merge herself with the Troper in order to stand a chance against their combined might. While in this new, monstrous form, #666 posed a much more significant threat to the group, and for the first time, she was taking an active role in trying to attack them, rather than testing them and (unintentionally) letting them come to her. During her rampage, #666 even ended up killing one of her long-time friends and trusted confidantes, Dr. James Langley, who was assisting her with her experiment. Deciding she needed to be dealt with once and for all, #19450 managed to enlist the aid of a few of her other sisters in order to provide the city team with a veritable arsenal with which to combat #666. After a long and grueling battle, the party prevailed, and #666 was imprisoned for her perceived crimes.

Season 3: "Four years after the end of Season 2, a bunch of people wind up getting dropped into a massive wasteland called Extremus, which is notable mostly for being the gum on the sole of the universe's shoe and also having a massive pillar of light sticking out of the middle of it. Having no better idea how to get home, three separate bunches of people form into groups and begin their trek towards the pillar. Along the way, they meet a group of mercenaries named the Bloodhounds, who tell them not to go any closer to the pillar. The groups henceforth declare the Bloodhounds to be assholes and continue doing what they were doing.

Shortly thereafter they find #666, now going by the nickname "Sixes", who managed to break herself out of her extradimensional prison after it was attacked by some of the same mercenaries the party had already faced, and her jailers were killed. She explains that the Trope-tans are dying or being kidnapped by (shock and horror) the mercenaries they met earlier, on behalf of parties unknown. They immediately decide that she too is an asshole, and old grievances arise, as some of the party were forced to take part in her experiment. Eventually, after another explanation from Sixes, some of the group begins to see her side, and they stop holding her at gun-point long enough to take her along for the ride. As it turns out, the party's automatic healing, and resurrection, as well as any real threats to the party being excluded from such benefits were intentional parts of Sixes' experiment, and that she while she was not exactly fond of any of them by the time they'd overthrown her, her intention had never been to kill them. She also (reluctantly) admitted that, while fused with the Troper during the final days of her experiment, she had completely lost control of her own actions, and was only dimly aware of what was even going on during the final three days. According to her, they may as well not even have been fighting her during the final battle, and that the taunts and challenges shouted into their minds had likely come from the roulette itself. Despite this explanation, however, many of the others still had their reservations about her.

Later, they also find #19450, who turns out to be pursuing Sixes against the wishes of the Trope-tans' leader, known simply as "One", to stay clear of Extremus until the threat to their people has been further assessed. The two grudgingly tolerate one another long enough to move forward, and a short while later, they eventually happen upon the Bloodhound's base of operations: A big-ass capital spaceship covered in corporate sponsor logos. Here they're confronted by the Bloodhound lieutenants. They tell them to turn back and explain that in two weeks they're be safe to leave. The party responds by diplomatically reminding the Bloodhounds that they are assholes.

Meanwhile, Sixes and #19450 have the solid-gold idea of infiltrating their ship and assassinating the bloodhound's mysterious client to disrupt the operation and save what's left of their race. As it turns out, this client is none other than Dr. Langley, brought back to life by the very roulette wheel #19450 had forgotten to shut off after the party had apprehended Sixes.

Sixes is taken aback by this and tries to kill both him and his Bloodhound girlfriend, only to get the shit kicked out of her when the Bloodhound's commanding officer intervenes. She is scooped up off the floor and captured, but before being taken away, Sixes stabs #19450 through the heart in order to activate her sister's escape mechanism, telling her to tell One about what has happened and to get the group some backup.

After staying in a nearby settlement for quite some time in order to rest and gather their thoughts, the party is eventually met by Dr.Langley and a couple of bodyguards, in order to talk things through. This turns out to be for reasons as much composed of Langley's having to justify the genocide to himself as they are reasons of diplomacy. As it turns out, he wants to extract the basic idea of what the Trope-tans represent, called "Biodata", and use it to create an AI capable of observing a sizable portion of the Multiverse and stabilizing the fluxes of probability and reality that cause many universes to wink out of existence.

The group decide he is an asshole, and shoot one of his bodyguards in the shoulder just to be sure, and after a very brief skirmish, Dr. Langley and the Bloodhounds decide to abandon diplomacy for the time being and leave the party to their own devices. Some time later, the group decide to do something about all this, and send a message to One in order to directly call for assistance. She responds by arriving in person, along with the Troper himself, who reveals that his true name is Ashurbanipal, or "Ashur", as he is more frequently called.

Ashur informs the group that the Trope-tans will be driven to extinction if they don't do anything (true), that they alone can save an entire race (true), that stagnation and stability are the only way for the Multiverse to continue (debatable), that he will make its cultures follow this whether they like it or not (controversial), and that if you're not with him you're against him and will surely perish (worrying).

In addition, Ashur reveals that he was never actually being held by Sixes at all, and was in fact simply leading everyone (including her) to believe that in order to ensure that when he and One decided to make their move to save the Multiverse by essentially turning him into the god of everything, he could have a scapegoat for the past actions he'd assumed much of the party might have objected to. This turned out to have worked perfectly, as even those whom he had kidnapped the first time around could only focus on their victory over the "evil" Sixes once she had been defeated.

But now that all had been laid bare, more objections began to arise.

At this point, the group actually splits down the middle, one half joining him while the others refuse to and are condemned to a universe of his own design, a hell more terrible and unwholesome than anything any of them could have possibly imagined:

Florida.

Eighties Florida.

One year later, the party has taken control of Florida, but Florida is preparing to strike back. The alligators, mosquitoes and terrible humidity are growing stronger by the hour.

@Kiri: I was kind of hoping he could still have memories of being with the Group(If people'll be playing the same characters, that is.), as well as the situation they've been in, rather than making him completely new to it again.

I'm also hoping that he could maybe possibly pretty please with a cherry-on-top still have his custom motorcycle which he spent the first half of Season 3.0 building.tongue

If there's problems with stuff like that though, then I definitely don't mind. Just a few non-essential wishes.smile

EDIT: Again, it's great to see everyone from the old days popping back up. Thanks for the recap. After reading it, I'm not 100% sure that Kyle would still be cool with going through with One's and Ash... As... the Troper's plan. But a year is a lot of time for stuff to happen/change, so if it comes down to it he might have changed his mind.

As for what he's been doing in that time, I'm not particularly sure, though I imagine it'd involve training and making repairs to the Raven's Claw. Also still keeping a log on his datapad (as weird as it sounds, I loved writing those things). Not sure what else he might have been doing, though.
