As long as Armin doesn't get shafted in favor of Levi/Mikasa again I'll be happy.
To be honest, I'm more interested in what the new opening will be and how they handle Zackley's super-happy-fun-house

You just can't appreciate art

[spongebob voice] And it's only gonna be one more year, one more year, one more super-duper year, one more super spectacular, extra magical, extra fantastical year!
At least this time they gave us a public announcement at an event along with official art and an actual season, rather than just "lol we're working on it, maybe 2016...?" So THIS TIME, I actually have my hopes up for the season to actually happen.
ain't that just the way...Deleted

Dude, this is the anime-only thread. Delete that and take it to the manga thread.
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!OH YES!
H.B. WardSeason 2 starts airing on CR this Saturday. Get ready, boiz.
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!Time for a little recap.
"Hey Dad, could you tell me what's in our basement?"
"Sure, it's called 'Go read the fucking manga'".
Yeah, I'd say that sums it up pretty much perfectly.
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!I found the OP pretty cool. And the ED strangely ominous…
So the episode covers exactly 2 chapters. There are some dialogue scenes cut, but nothing too important.
Visually it's stunning. Of course it is. Save for a couple of Conspicuous CG shots here and there. The sound makes the last scene much more horrifying than in the manga. :x
Otherwise, good pacing and a good contrast between the urgency and the strangely quiet atmosphere at the same time. A relatively flawless first episode that wastes no time getting into the action.

Oh man. That whole scene with Mike and the Beast Titan...
They really amped up the Nightmare Fuel for those last few minutes.
It's sad to think he might have lived if his horse had come from another direction, but at that point it was already face that Titans avoided animals, so of course he never thought of it. He knew it was an abnormal, but he had no way to know how abnormal until it was far too late.
And Pastor Nick...it's nice to see some of his unexpected bad assery again, even if it's for the wrong reasons.
One Strip! One Strip!this + rick and morty on the same damn day is just too much moodswing gorramit.
So that was fucking intense. It's been literally years since I last watched this; wall rose is the last wall right? At this point they've breached the last line and are one brisk jog from the capital?
So monkey titan raises even more questions then it answers. It's intelligent and apparently human (or at least a portion of it resides in the nape) but doesn't know how the 3d gear works and seems to be able to control the titans at least a little bit. So has it been residing outside the walls in titan country for over a century? Or does titanness pass genetically and he's been raised outside the walls? He seemed almost nostalgic and a little too cool with the "eat all the dudes, smash all the buildings" to be completely new to this.
And that's not counting the wall titans and the dinosaurs.
To summarize: What fucking what?
Is using "Julian Assange is a Hillary butt plug" an acceptable signature quote?…Oh yeah, the dinosaurs… What the hell was that about? =.=
Also, Rose is the second wall, the last one is Wall Sina.

The ones from the OP, right? Yeah, as someone who's caught up with the manga, I have no idea what the hell those and all those other animals are about.
Also, as someone who's caught up with the manga, watching people speculate about what's going on is going to be fun.
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!Okay, the ending is just... creepy. I'm not sure how to describe it otherwise. Something about that eerie tune - and the imagery - sets me off.
Otherwise, I'm curious to see how distilled will the second season be. Here's hoping the anime won't be trying to catch up to the manga at the cost of skipping important stuff.
Make that the two of us. c:

grah@ thatguythere47 Rose is the 2nd wall.
There were a couple of a mistakes in the episode. The location text said the recruits were in wall Sina, But everything else says they're in wall Rose. But more importantly they drew Mikasa in a scene Armin was suppose to have again.
Which scene? It's been forever since I read this part of the manga.
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!I just hope the second season isn't going to force even more Eren/Mikasa scenes that were nowhere in the manga, especially not if it's at the cost of scenes with him and Armin (like they did in the season 1 finale). Directors who remove or cheapen friendships to shift onto romance instead really irks me.
The first episode was great though. I'm laughing at the anime-only watchers who waited this long only to have the first thing meeting them being Mike's death. Get comfortable, there's more where that came from.
It's almost like they forgot what series they were watching.
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!New episode. I had forgotten how badass Sasha was.
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!I really love the mood of quiet discomfort throughout this episode. Like an eerie calm before the storm.
Sasha going back to her casual speech for a second was also a nice touch.
Previously on Attack on Titan:
<Mike's horrific death howls still echo from last week>
....um...yeah. Today, Sasha has her some Eye Scream.
One Strip! One Strip!
The main thing is that the armor titan is clearly fighting everyone except Eren.
