You and your tabbed browsing

I generally have two or three by default, but it tends to expand when browsing forums, as I usually open multiple threads at once in tabs, then open more tabs to research things involving those threads.

Right now, I have one for a favored forum, three for this forum and one for Bulbapedia.

I would like to add that the phrasing of the title makes me think...

At minimum, three tabs. One for tumblr, one for TV tropes, and one for deviantart. If I open more, it's for other websites I frequent.

Strangely, I also tend to have more than one internet browser open so I can check multiple accounts on a website at once.

I usually have Facebook and Pinterest open all the time, but I will open more tabs as needed.

I usually have my browser open for only one thing at a time. When I'm doing two things at once, I usually open a second window for the new thing.

However, a single 'thing' may involve a number of tabs, for instance when I'm posting on a forum (these days, mostly here or Yahoo Answers), I open a new tab for each thread. And if I have to look something up regarding what I'm posting, I do that in the same window as well.

Tv tropes, Escapist, reddit, and sometimes Tumblr for my tabs.

Yahoo!, Facebook, TV Tropes.

3-5 tabs kept most of the time. They're also placed in a specific order, or else I'll feel uncomfortable....

I keep on average 100 tabs open, no matter the browser I'm currently using. Yes I switch off on browsers occasionally.

Why in the name of Sithis do I need so many tabs open? It just gets away from me until its one huge completely un-navigable affair that will inevitably end in it crashing from critical tab overload. I think my ultimate goal is to have so many tabs open at once that my browser turns into a House of Leaves style affair.

Can anyone beat 100 tabs?

Nope. Maybe 3 or 4, but usually just one or two. Two if I happen to be editing an entry on here, which I have been for the past two days.

The most I've had (I think) is 42 tabs. Usually Chrome because if I did that on something else it would slow down my computer. Plus, I have a lot of tabs open on Opera, but it's closed most of the time, but they are saved.

The most I've ever had was around 137. But that was my sister's fault.

I usually have about three to five tabs open. Number one is usually a permanent fixture for that session, mainly forums, whilst the rest change depending on what I'm doing at the time. If I've got Youtube open, it goes down to about four, and if I'm installing something, down to two to prevent slowdown. Right now, I'm installing DC Universe Online updates, so I have two tabs open: This, and the season 2 finale of Epic Rap Battles Of History.

The most I've ever had was a bit over 150. Maybe even over 160. Yes. How? Well, it all begun one day when I discovered this very wiki. Add a fast computer, being able to save and auto-load sessions (it was and still is a few months' worth of tabs), way too much free time and you're about there. Also, these two Firefox extensions, which organize the mess and prevent you from losing everything if something went wrong.

Currently, however, it's been below 100 for a while. Basically, it consists of tumblr, some tropes, writing project research and various random trash.

And I thought my tabs were messy... I usually have three pinned tabs for whatever random stuff I'm interested in at the moment, but it has a tendency to build up until I have to use websites like Facebook or You Tube and I have to get rid of them to reduce lag.

The most I've ever had open was 12, I think.

I had about 200 of them to delete some articles on a wiki that I'm an admin on.

At most I'll have 6, but I usually have 4 open at a time — 2 for TV Tropes, 1 for You Tube, 1 for Blu-ray.com.

I normally have about 9 or 10 tabs open. Most of my browsing is on forums, TV Tropes or other wikis, and I open up a tab on any interesting links I see on a page. The most I've had is probably about 30, during a particularly intense Wiki Walk.

A tab to a small forum, Tvtropes forum, Discworld MUD, Anhk-Morpork Map, Tumblr Dashboard, two tabs regarding custom tailors for Discworld Mud, tabs to discworld MUD wiki.

Eight in all.

I never understood how anyone could have more than 5 tabs open. I can't have more than 5 tabs open it just looks so cluttered.

I need them to encompass all my interests.

Because I'm running XP, so I can't really do as many of them tabs.

I have six permanent tabs at any given moment, any more and it starts getting really cluttered.
