I like it!
Rhetorical, eh? ... Eight!Looks absolutely brilliant. The main challenge, I think, is cropping it to look nice since the panels don't quite share the same dimensions and the speech bubbles often spill outside of their respective panels. Would require more photo-editting skills than I have.

C'est bien?
Well, that works a lot better than I expected.
"Yeah, it's a shame. Here we are in an underground cave with all these lasers, and instead of having a rave we're using it for evil."That's pretty good.
The Revolution Will Not Be TropeableTop panel is distracting and makes the image look clunky. Can we use the bottom two panels on their own?
Keep it breezy! The only way to get the idea across is to use the last five panels. That way we see the hate, the unfriendly first meeting, and more hate.
That would definitely be too many panels for a page image.
The Revolution Will Not Be Tropeable2-panel solution:

Keep it breezy!Alternate two-panel solution: Use the panel where they meet, crop out the speechbubbles other than "hey" "hello", and then just have the glaring one. I don't know if it'd work better, though. is fine.
That was the amazing part. Things just keep going.I prefer the one I already uploaded, but here is another.
Keep it breezy!
I think the frowny faces aren't enough to establish "hate". Rather, I think using the last three panels, arranging them top to bottom, might work the clearest.

Hmmm...not seeing much of the trope there. And I am not clear whether the speech bubbles add anything useful.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanI think that while it does illustrate the trope, it's rather weak on the hate. More of a displeased feeling. The last panel of the comic is rather clear on the hate, but it completely undermines the "at first sight" part.

Check out my fanfiction! It does? How?
Also, I think we're getting into a subjective standard of what "hate" means. The trope description doesn't indicate that it needs to be a boiling, foaming-at-the-mouth rage.

The mutual glower reads pretty clearly to me as suppressed loathing.
The Revolution Will Not Be TropeableThe mutual glower is awfully mild compared to before and after when they're trying to kill each other.
But it still works. It's not necesary to go all-out here, something subtle like this can do the trick.

"Yeah, it's a shame. Here we are in an underground cave with all these lasers, and instead of having a rave we're using it for evil."It's still an example. Images don't have to be perfect.
Rhetorical, eh? ... Eight! But ideally, it should be, shouldn't it? That's why it, out of all the examples in the world, is chosen to be the trope pic.

That just means the opportunity has arisen for them to stop suppressing it.
The Revolution Will Not Be TropeableIf we really want to drive the point home, we can always come up with a witty caption for it.
Keep it breezy!I'd rather have an image that gets the same point across in fewer panels.
10 only has two panels.
Keep it breezy!
Newly-launched trope. When I saw the name, I immediately thought of this comic. The last panel in the third row, followed by the first two in the fourth.
It's even listed in the examples.
