Persona: Dreaming Puppets Signup/Interest Check

The setting: Echisa, a quiet Japanese town centered around Aoisakari University. Mainly populated by University students and their families, Echisa seems to be a peaceful place to live. The situation: Tragedy. As of late, a string of suicides in Echisa sent the town reeling. People have chalked these suicides up to stress or depression, but the truth is much different. What they don't realize is that there's a cause for the suicides people who dream of a blue butterfly are whisked away to a world beyond our own, a world beyond imagination that is born of the collective unconscious. This world, called 'The Land Of Nod', is inhabited with Shadows that eat the souls of those they kill. These victims return to the waking world an empty shell, with no ambitions, no dreams, no emotions and no path to take but one: the path of self-termination.

Only those will the strength to endure life's hardships, chosen by the butterfly, can combat these Shadows, using the power of Persona. It is up to them to put a stop to this morbid play before the curtain call ends the show for all of Echisa.

• Name: Kenta Fujimoto
• Age: 19

• Personality: Kenta is...kind of weird. He is very upbeat and idealistic, but has poor attention span and is incredibly awkward around others. Kenta is a very intelligent young man, often using very big, verbose words in his speaking. He is very polite to adults and especially teachers. Kenta enjoys reading and playing the piano, and has a curious fixation on the music of the English band Radiohead. Kenta is afraid of being hurt again like he was back in Okinawa. This fear makes it hard for Kenta to start anew in Echisa. Deep down, he feels trapped in a strange place and cannot turn to anyone. He copes with his loneliness and distrust of others by daydreaming, concocting fantasies to distract himself from his negative emotions.

• History: Kenta was born in Okinawa to Yuzu and Mamoru Fujimoto. From the very beginning of his academic life, Kenta proved to be a bright child. He skipped a grade in middle school, and as a result felt alienated because his classmates were older than him, and furthermore the classmates treated him with scorn and contempt about him skipping a year. One day, the students played a cruel trick on Kenta. An attractive and very popular girl named Akina Sugito asked Kenta out on a date. Kenta agreed, not knowing it was a trap. The students behind trick waited until Akina lured Kenta into a secluded part of the club they were going to, upon which the pranksters jumped Kenta and tore his clothes off him, leaving him in his underwear. Though the pranksters were expelled for this act, Kenta was ashamed and humiliated. Kenta's parents moved to Echisa, hoping the students would be less hostile. He finished school there and got enrolled into Aoisakari.
• Appearance: Kenta is of average height (5'5") and weight and has straight brown hair and bright blue eyes that give him an air of innocence. He's often seen wearing a simple white shirt and a pair of jeans. During colder days, Kenta wears a bright red coat with the words 'BEST OF LUCK' written on the back in English. Though he doesn't smoke, he carries a Zippo lighter around because he thinks they're pretty useful.

• Name: Sojirou Ashikaga

• Personality: Sojirou appears to a rather daft, if kind, young man. At first glance, he appears to be your average every day student- armed with a dry wit and a carefree attitude. A deeper look will reveal a “void”, caused by his refusal to assert his self-worth. Instead, he projects them unto others, as through his happiness and misery hinges on the feelings of other. In this way, it is not unlike him running full tilt without looking back, for fear of finding a reflective surface and discovering his unpleasant reflection. When it comes down to receiving an injury or even giving up his life to help someone, he will do it without a second thought.

He is extremely determined and rarely considered the ramifications of his actions.

• History: Sojirou, age 0, was born to a normal couple. Sojirou, age 5, played with the clutch pedal of his father’s prized Volkswagen, becoming the catalyst of the worst automobile accident in Sendai. Neither of his parents survives. Sojirou was adopted by the local church, which subsequently moves to Echisa. Sojirou, age 11, jump into the middle of traffic to save a stray cat. Sojirou, age 14, was sent to juvenile training schools due to “mental instability” and “use of excessive force” while intervening in a conflict between delinquents and their victim. Two of the delinquents were sent to the hospital, and one to the morgue.

Sojirou, age 18, enrolled in Aoisakari.

Occasionally, it is also portrayed as a symbol of temptation. The positive aspect, however, represents a healthy bond or commitment (one which hopefully she will develop)

@mrminun Do you mean you need to know the naming schemes of the Persona 1/2 spells? Sure. All Persona 3 and 4 skills are available, as are the following: Gry spells inflict Gravity damage by creating a sphere of crushing weight. Gry>Grva>Grydyne Magry>Magryva>Magrydyne

Zan: Does Force damage by creating a bolt of raw concussive energy. Zan>Zanma>Zandyne Mazan>Mazanma>Mazandyne

• Name: Masumi Ienari
• Age: 18
• Gender: Female (biologically), genderqueer.
• Year: Freshman
• Personality: Masumi is inquisitive, and while not extroverted she does make a habit of chatting up passer-bys. She's usually calm, patient, quiet during her moments of introspection, and a little unaware of other people's personal space and privacy (though, hypocritically, she's protective of her own). She can also be witty, though it's usually reserved for friends, and her passion for artistic photography means she has a rather abstract way of looking at things.
• History: Her life isn't anything particularly interesting; she grew up in middle-higher class, with kind but somewhat conservative parents. She's intelligent and did well enough in school, though it became clear early on that she favoured creativity over intelligence. Masumi is native to Echisa and some of her photography has made it into a few community exhibitions, making her fairly well known around town. She's aware that she was an 'accident'- neither of her parents had planned for a child- and while she does love her parents and they love her back, it has had a rather strong influence on how she regards herself.
• Appearance: Short, choppy black hair and dark brown eyes. She's taller than average (about 5'9), healthily lean, and has a pair of reading glasses. She always wears a wristband and a sturdy leather watch, along with a black army cap. In school she insists on wearing the boys' uniform (claiming that she finds it more practical than the girls' uniform), while her casual clothes are often stylish but not very expressive. It's not uncommon to see her carrying around her camera equipment.
• Arcana: XX(Thoth): Aeon- Represents the desire to understand one's self.
  • Masumi's two main issues revolve around her apparent lack of purpose in life and her growing anxiety over her gender identity issues.

• Personality: Kenjiro may be an intelligent person, but although he is right most of the time, he refuses to acknowledge being wrong even long after his mistake has become obvious. Additionally, this lead to him looking down on everyone "below him" in terms of intellect, the only quality he really values. He doesn't show many emotions as well and tends to be a bit of a hypocrite.
• History: Kenjiro has been raised in a middle-class family, with nothing extraordinary happening in his life. He doesn't really have any friends and spends most of his time either studying or in front of the computer.

  • Reason: The upside-down Justice represents corrupted justice, unfairness and inequality. Kenjiro judges people only on one point (their intelligence) and almost always puts himself above others, refusing to acknowledge his own mistakes but quickly pointing out those of others. Over the course of the RP he should learn to look at himself as well and to be a more fair and rational judge of a person's worth.

Adrien (A to his friends) is quite the lover, and enjoys the nightlife, drinking, etc. Other interests include art and the cinema. He does alright in school, but tends to slack off. He carries himself confidently, almost snobbily at times, but he is a relatively down to earth guy.
