Comatose, maybe. A shadow of what it used to be.
What game was that?

Happiness is zero-gee with a sinus cold.Variety changed its headline to Lucas Arts Stops Producing Games; Lays Off Staff
The process is that you keep on 1 or 2 people to monitor games - they can't even make patches, really. Then when the games are old enough, you reassign them and permanently shutter the studio.

Jonah FalconSo... no more Star Wars Battlefront III? Goddamnit, a man can dream can't he!
yes,I know SWB3 was effectively cancelled ages ago before anyone says anything
Disney is more than happy to license them to you. That is - you pay for it, they get a cut on the profits.
Jonah FalconGreat, let Free Radical mak...oh.
Star Wars 1313 is up for sale, seems like. As I said, Disney is more than happy to let you buy the license and develop it yourself and pay for it, and let them take a cut in the profits.
Jonah FalconA game going through this much Development Hell is bound to have problems.
Somehow I just can't bring myself to care about this news. First Assault wasn't Battlefront 3, and 1313 was likely to be pretty "meh" anyway.

I'm waaaaaay more interested in First Assault and by extension Battlefront 3.
Bleye knows Sabers. Its more about the memory of LA for me.
Yeah, but the LA that made Monkey Island is looooooong gone dude.
Bleye knows Sabers.Memory.
LA means Grim Fandango to me.
Jonah FalconSee, there 'will be Star Wars games. Disney will make more money licensing it than making the game themselves.
Lucas Arts really died when it stopped making non-Star Wars games like Sam And Max, Full Throttle, Grim Fandango, etc.
Jonah FalconLucas Arts, from my impression, wasn't exclusive to just Star Wars titles, right?? No game company is exclusive to one title?? Right? RIGHT?!
They released the rare Indiana Jones game and rereleases of older properties. Otherwise, it was pretty much all Telltale working on their older properties.
Not Three Laws compliant.Lucas Arts stopped developing in 2008, in fact.
Jonah FalconLucas Arts is dead since they stopped making adventure games and began to only publish Star Wars games. Disney merely buried it. I'd say that it is about time, but since that won't stop the glut of mediocre Star Wars games, pretty much nothing changed.
...Yeah, I don't see how this is big news. Or how this proves that Disney's buyout was a bad thing (mind, I'm not saying that it was good, but I'm not neutral about the whole thing anyway).
People aren't as awful as the internet makes them out to be.A sad day idea, for both nostalgia reasons and for the fact that a lot of good people are now out of work). Sure Lucas Arts has basically been going downhill since the early 00s thanks to poor management but its sad to see they won't be able to make a comeback.
Politics is the skilled use of blunt objects.I still remember getting Secret of Monkey Island, and Loom, and Fate of Atlantis. Why did they shut down my childhood?! Why?!
Never trust anyone who uses "degenerate" as an insult. At least most of the talent will be rehired and will be put to use more.
Me and my friend's collaborative webcomic: Forged MenTell Tale also worked on the BONE game too.
Maybe "Undead" would be a better term? Dead for all intents and purposes, but still moving around in some shell of an existence?
Hmm. Compared to my favorite game of all time dying yesterday, this news doesn't affect me as much as it should.
Dungeon Fighter Online.
