Can't see much in terms of distinction there.

Check out my fanfiction!Indistinct, but I think a distinction could be made. I think the rival character is supposed to be that really over the top, arrogant Ojou Laugh character. Whether we should make that distinction is another question.

There seems to be a distinction in that the Unknown Rival's rival doesn't know who they are, but the Schoolgirl Rival's rival doesn't care about the rivalry. That has nothing to do with being a schoolgirl, though, except maybe being an unusually common type.
The Revolution Will Not Be TropeableThat's not really true. Unknown Rival is broader than the name implies. It also applies characters not caring enough about the rivalry.

The Revolution Will Not Be TropeableHmm, my only reservation has been adequately addressed already, so I'm going to go ahead and support a merge.
Speaking words of fandom: let it squee, let it squee.Clocking. If no one raises objections within the deadline, I'll do the merge.

Schoolgirl Rival came up in this thread.
The description is a two-line that isn't all that different from Unknown Rival, but with "schoolgirl and Japan" tacked on. Both describe a one-sided rivalry where one of the characters had no say in the matter, and the other has decided for them. Furthermore, the article has failed to thrive. Its history goes back 3 years ago, but it only has 46 wicks and 52 inbounds.
Opinions?
