Discuss TV Tropes itself, such as observations you've made about the site/forum/wiki.
NOTE: Keep it civil; try not to get into any Flame Bait-y territory, per the forum rules (in particular, drama importation and popcorn posting are not allowed, and this thread is for discussion about the site and not the users). In addition, while discussing the Edit Banned thread is not prohibited on its own, discussing and/or alluding to specific cases is not permitted.
One thing I've noticed is that for all how the page for They Might Be Giants claims them to be the unofficial official band of this wiki, there's relatively few people on this site who seem to ever reference them.

(re the Earthy Tortoise thing from the previous page)
This is so funny to me. It makes it look like some kinda weird clickbait.

I see TV Tropes in my news feed sometimes, usually indeed new tropes. I guess they categorize trope pages as just "articles" in general, regardless of whether they're "news." (Cuz let's be real, half of what comes up on a Google news feed nowadays barely qualifies as "news." )
I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe. If news is important, then well,
"Importance is relative."

So naturally if you on on TVT a lot it might show. Although I never had tropes show up on mine (I barely check it though).

Macron's notesYeah my algorithm picks up stuff from TV Tropes. When I edit on my phone, it even picks up wiki wording and adds it to my suggestions.
It's usually funny... except after editing a Bowdlerise.Theatre too many times on my phone, it added the n-bomb to my suggested words whenever I typed "And the..." just because an entry on the page (not even one I had added!) quoted a lyric that used it. So that was a bit terrifying.
I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.I've had my phone recommend wikiwords as well, but I'm surprised the n-word was able to get past it for you. My phone doesn't even pick up regular swear words for that, which I thought was probably programmed in on purpose but apparently that can get by so maybe I just don't curse enough for it to pick up or something.
Disney100 Marathon | DreamWorks MarathonOh Jesus, imagine if you accidentally sent the n-word somewhere. Yeesh.
Victor of HGS S320 | "There's rosemary, that's for remembrance. Pray you, love, remember."They say TV Tropes Will Ruin Your Vocabulary, but it sounds like a phone's vocabulary was ruined in this case.
In all seriousness, I've heard of autocorrect replacing profanity with unrelated non-profanity words (such as changing "fuck" to "duck"), but a phone suggesting racial slurs in text that isn't a direct quote is easily worse than that.

Patiently awaiting the release of Paper Luigi and the Marvelous Compass.Yeah, see here, this is what happens when I type in a swear word, it either goes blank or conspicuously attempts to redirect me to another word. I'm honestly shocked that that word was able to get by, seems like a serious oversight.
Disney100 Marathon | DreamWorks Marathon
Same. I have to try several times. Odd that your autocorrect would do that, Mew. Wiki articles have power.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessMy autocorrect will pick up very niche things from pages, like the wiki-wording of a particular show, after editing a page a few times. I think it picked up from Bowdlerise.Theatre because I edited that on my phone shortly after seeing shows on at least two occasions so I wouldn't forget the censored line in question.
It should go without saying that I have never in my life typed that word myself, not even in a quote, so I was paranoid someone would get the wrong idea, but thankfully I can delete suggested words. (It was like, the second top result, not the center one, but still fucking jarring.)
I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe. No kidding. What a shock, it's like a jumpscare but instead it's a slur
