Bumped.
Jonah FalconOdd - I tried searching for this topic, and it didn't show up.
Anyways, yeah - the Game Informer article makes it look to be more action-oriented than The Walking Dead was, but with roughly the same level of character interaction. I'm actually a bit excited.
Long live Cinematech. FC:0259-0435-4987"Set prior to the events seen in the first issue of the FABLES comic book series, The Wolf Among Us puts players in the role of Bigby Wolf, a man once more infamously known as The Big Bad Wolf. Now the sheriff of a hidden community in New York City, exiled from the land of fairy tales, Bigby is tasked by the bureaucrat Snow White to keep order within a society of mythical creatures and characters trying to remain undetected in the world of the mundane. From a chain-smoking member of 'The Three Little Pigs,' to a car-stealing Mr. Toad itching for his next wild ride, The Wolf Among Us examines the lives of beings straight from the pages of myth and lore, now trying to survive on the meanest and most run-down streets of New York City."

Jonah FalconTrailer:
Episode 1 to be released this Friday.
#IceBearForPresidentIt's out. And it looks pretty snazzy.
"It's so hard to be humble, knowing how great I am."And done. Pretty good episode, nice and suspenseful. Unsurprisingly it's a lot like The Walking Dead with the whole point and click gameplay, but there is some nice improvements.

#IceBearForPresidentIt's a lot more action oriented than The Walking Dead, it seems. Or, maybe better put, its action scenes are more fleshed out. There are different types of quick-time events rather than just "Press A to Not Die."
Also, Telltale did not pull any punches. I'm still a little shaken after finishing it.
"It's so hard to be humble, knowing how great I am."That. Was. Awesome.
Stand Fast, Stand Strong, Stand TogetherBitchin', I loved the Walking Dead game. I will pick this up when I have money to spend on games.
So apparently Telltale recycled a a few actors from The Walking Dead.
Bigby and The Woodsman are Hershel (allegedly, I don't think I've seen an official source on this, and I haven't cross-referenced the credits)
Toad Jr. and Beauty are Clementine
Collin and Ichabod Crane are Chuck
And Snow White is Molly.
Also, I think the music at the end of the episode is the same "tense scene" music the had in the Walking Dead.
"It's so hard to be humble, knowing how great I am."I wish I could have seen the pitch meeting for this.
"So, we want to make a Fables game. It's a noir mystery. Set in the 80's. And this is how the first installment ends..."
That's not a cool way to end the first episode, Telltale...
Just beat the first episode.
Telltale, you are monsters.
Telltale often recycles voice-actors in their games. They use a certain talent pool(which includes known voice-actors like Roger Jackson,JS Gilbert,Terrence Mc Govern and Kid Beyond.)from a same studio.Sometimes, they get voice-actors outside of that pool for a change(like Nika Futterman in Jurassic Park,James Arnold Taylor in Back to The Future,Dave Fennoy in Walking Dead and most of the original V As from Monkey Island series in Tales of Monkey Island.)

"That's not a cool way to end the first episode, Telltale..."
Episode two opens up with a De Lorean screeching to a stop in front of Bigby with Guybrush and Max inside telling him the timeline has been altered and he needs to come with them to undo a paradox...
Telltale sure outdone themselves this time. Not only did Faith died so quickly but they had to kill Snow too? I mean they're thounsads of characters to choose and it has to be Bigby's love interset? I was shipping them since the moment I saw him cheaking her out in the mirror. Dammit, Telltale and their amazing cliffhangers. At least our Wolf will have a reason to continue to sought out the truth on who's started all of this Pandora's box.
I'm thinking you're not familiar with the Fables graphic novel this game is based on.
I know its base on a graphic novel, but Reading these comics will spoil the experience of the game. I don't want to know everything. What's the point of playing a game with such great characters if you know what's about to happened? There's no element of suprise, no suspense that builds up before the shocking climex. And that's why reading the comics before finishing the game will ruin the fun of playing~
To avoid spoiling I wont say anything other than people who've read the comic and people who haven't will be entertained by the ending of this first game episode for entirely different reasons. Telltale is really good at making stories compelling for everyone.
I'd recommend you reading the books only after the game finishes all episodes. I'm thinking the game will have a stronger impact on the player if they experience the book or game as a whole before they experience the other, regardless of which one comes first.

Am I right in assuming that The Wolf Among Us is a prequel to the main Fables comics?
"It's so hard to be humble, knowing how great I am."That's been stated in quite a few places by quite a few sources.
But, the comic isn't finished yet either. Heck, for all we know, it could be another whole decade or more before it finally ends...
True, but even reading the first trade paperback will change how you view the game, I think.
Its been said it's a prequel, and at first I was sure it was intended to be set in the mid-1980's. Between the color palette, the synth music in the soundtrack, the look of the cars and style of the business suit Snow wears, the use of rotary dial phones, a movie poster advertising the "Future World of 1996", and the general status quo of things in their universe, it fit.
But the design of some characters and their dress suggests otherwise(?) and are too modern. So now I'm, not so sure.

Announced.
There's a thread on both The Walking Dead and Fables, not one solely about Fables.
Guess what? This one has the same "all your choices affect the game" mechanic as The Walking Dead.
"Set prior to the events seen in the first issue of the FABLES comic book series, The Wolf Among Us puts players in the role of Bigby Wolf, a man once more infamously known as The Big Bad Wolf.
