[Anima Beyond Fantasy] is a roleplaying system much like dungeons and dragons, with heavy anime influences. Pretty much any anime character can be recreated using this system, thanks to its unique rules for each power source. despite that, the game is incredibly well balanced.

Gensokyo is... well, you guys probably already know about gensokyo.

I'd like to run a game either through skype or the forums here using the Anima system in the Touhou universe. Ive made a few knock off characters myself in a friends game, and they all work pretty well. If you guys haven't tried the Anima roleplaying system before, let me just give a heads up and say it's a heavy handed system, but once you understand how it works it's really rewarding! I can give help to anyone who is interested in playing.

You can play as pre-existing characters or brand new characters yourself if you'd like. the story will be about a person or persons being hijacked from their own universe either because of or resulting in strange happenings in gensokyo.

Ultimately desire to return home, but perhaps a new home is found? Such is destiny! :P

sweet! -w-

This is a type of game that works best with 3-4 players. Once we have a couple more potential players I'll start up a discussion so we can begin plotting characters (without a doubt the most difficult part of the game.)

I'll post some resources too when I open the thread, so if anyone is interested in checking out the game but doesn't know Anima, just let me know and I'll help!

Updating because our most recent game just ended, still looking for takers. Also, I think I should explain a bit more about the power system in Anima.

Like Dungeons And Dragons, Anima Beyond Fantasy has multiple power sources to work from, however each one has a different set of rules to go by. There is Ki users, Zeon users, Psi users, and Elan. oh, and summoning.

Ki users generally mimic shows like Yu Yu Hakusho and Dragon Ball Z. They gain something called "Martial Knowledge" over time, which can be used to unlock super powers like flight, the ability to touch Pure Energy, and home made super techniques. (you really do make them yourself from scratch)

Most Ki users are not unarmed, although there is a class that specializes in unarmed combat.

Zeon users gerenally mimic shows like Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha. As their intelligence increases, their ability to learn magic expands. Each particular book of magic has it's own specialty, for example, Light specializes in information gathering, while darkness specialized in information denial. Alternatively you can just buy your favorite spells individually.

Of course, there's still big explosion type magic in each particular book. :P

Psi users generally mimic shows like A Certain Magical Index, and other "espers". They have no limit in how often you use them, but strong psychic powers can backfire.

I don't have much experience in the other types of powers myself, although Ive read through the whole book from and back and I do understand them. It's a really fun system I have to say, although fighting too often can tire you out very fast. most characters need about 3-5 days to recover from real battles, injured or not.
