Well, it's about time we found out what Supergiant's been up to lately. Hell yeah.
"I've come to the conclusion that this is a very stupid idea."I barely know anything about this game and I want it already. Bastion is one of my favourite games and this one looks like it's going to be amazing too.
I guess we could go... wherever we please.Fuck, that looks amazing. 2014 can't come soon enough.
Dost Thou Desire the Power ... Glove? It's so bad.SO PUMPED. Bastion is one of my favorite games ever. Can you say "day-one purchase"?
Dopants: He meant what he said and he said what he meant, a Ninety is faithful 100%.Damn son that game looks slick.
Remember! Hyperbole is an exaggeration made for comedic effect, and shouldn't be taken literally!"Supergiant Games" is all I need to hear to say "day one."
Home of CBR Rumbles-in-Exile: rumbles.fr.yuku.comHuh, anyone else noticing that red cat-eye motif in the environment? It makes the environment look kind of like Rapture if it decided to use Caelondia as a decorating influence.
Hey, buddy! Play this game!I'm not sure if Bioshock-esque would be the world to describe it though. It's much more Cyberpunk then Steampunk.
Remember! Hyperbole is an exaggeration made for comedic effect, and shouldn't be taken literally! The red eye motif is strangely reminiscent of Mega Man Legends.
This is going to be amazing.
well since i can't throw my money at the game right now i may have to direct it at one of those bastion packs they're selling at the store (there's no deal going on just wanna)
To be 100% honest, I'm more excited for the OST then the game itself. I set my sail...
Remember! Hyperbole is an exaggeration made for comedic effect, and shouldn't be taken literally!one of the comments on the video pretty sums up my thoughts (even though i gave them in the OP)
...'From the makers of Bastion' Thats all I need to know. TAKE MY MONEY!
Interesting that they didn't show her actually slashing the enemies with that honking great sword. It might turn out to be a supertech Swiss-Army Weapon that looks like a sword but then I'd have to question the necessity of the sword shape itself.
Well she doesn't slash them but she does shoot them now that I've look at the trailer more closely.
Huh, bigass sword and enemies of which some of look like women's bodies with upper half being strange floating eyes?
This seems more animeish than Bastion xD I kinda like that since that is rather rare nowadays. And by that I mean its rare for western game to have animesque themes without seeming like a lame attempt at getting anime fans interested, this one seems genuine.
...I don't really see what you're talking about. I mean, the big ass sword I get but The Kid had a big ass hammer. It just seems to be a stylistic choice of artist, and also you need bigger weapons to be able to see them from the isometric view. I don't really see the whole "Female robot" thing either.
Remember! Hyperbole is an exaggeration made for comedic effect, and shouldn't be taken literally!By that I mean that western games have boring enemies usually compared to weird surreal stuff in Japanese stuff And by surreal I don't mean Zeno Clash surreal, I mean Neon Genesis surreal.
And note that I never called Bastion animeish, I said that this looks more animeish than Bastion.
Really, I've noticed this tendency that whenever western game is called animeish, people will be like "What, you are wrong!" as if it would be automatically bad thing.

That's a super broad interpretation.
The Bsation comparison was to point out over sized weapons happen in Western games as well, and the robots being humanoid rather then strictly feminine doesn't really matter.
I don't mind an animesque style to a game, but you can't just throw around words and phrases without purpose.

Remember! Hyperbole is an exaggeration made for comedic effect, and shouldn't be taken literally! And I meant enemy at 0:39. Ya know, the one that looks like female torso without arms and head with eye floating above neck and weird robo angel eye wings?
And tell me, what was last time you saw weird humanoid enemies like that in western media? :P

Well gears of War Judgement came out last week, God of War Ascension and Starcraft 2 the week before that, DMC and Dead Space 3 a few weeks before that. It's really not that uncommon.
Remember! Hyperbole is an exaggeration made for comedic effect, and shouldn't be taken literally!...Umm, you miss the point.
Zerg and Protoss aren't "surreal", Locust aren't "surreal", necromorphs aren't "surreal", enemy at 0:39 is surreal and so is this is pretty weird.◊
Aka, my point being, that enemy reminds me of Bayonetta's porcelain/marble mask angel thingies more than how western enemies are usually designed like. Why? Dunno, Japanese have weird sense of aesthetics that doesn't always make sense at all.

Then what is your actual definition of surreal? Because in all honestly, slightly human robots aren't that surreal.
Remember! Hyperbole is an exaggeration made for comedic effect, and shouldn't be taken literally!
