Of Angels and Demons

"In the beginning, two gods were born. Judas, the God of Life, and Zena the Death Goddess. Where they came from mattered little to them, but Judas knew he needed to do something. Thus he created the Earth and its people, looking down on it with pride. Sharing his creation with Zena, she stared in awe. Wanting to make her own world, she tried to no avail. Looking over to his world as Judas slept, she tore off a piece of it to reshape in her image. The creatures on her world rejected her, and in a fit of rage she killed them all to remake in her image. Their screams and deaths woken Judas, who soon realized what she had done. Demanding she give back the stolen piece and its souls, Zena refused as she finally managed to create her own things. Judas was furious at her, and knocked the stolen piece out of her hands. Stealing it from her, she lunged at him to take it back. Knocking her out of the way, Judas tried to salvage the damaged piece and its people. Intrigued by what Zena had done to the souls, he gave them life. They were different in behavior, appearance and skill compared to his creation of humans. From what Zena had done, she had created both magic and what would one-day be called Demons."

I can give more fluff and backstory if you want, but I'll get straight to this: After her indirect creation of Demons and magic, Judas began expanding further on the concept of magic and non-humans. Seeing the anger that Zena had, he reshaped the stolen piece to be an orbiting body. Promising Zena she could take the souls of creatures in his world, she introduced the concept of Death to nearly all things. The only exception were her Demons, and despite their relatively cooperative behavior their sense of morality and lack of mortality made them a threat to others. To counterbalance this, Judas created the Angels and crafted magic that could kill immortals. Soon a war broke out between the Angels and Demons. Zena wasn't happy Judas was destroying her creations, and soon began a vicious war. The world was left to its own devices, and from the war there were two groups: Those that sided with the Angels, and those that sided with the Demons. The Angels were strict and brought down hard on those who endangered lives, while the Demons were fun-loving and easy-going. Even after the war ended, tension was still high. As generations proceeded each and history faded the hatred between Angels and Demons became instinct.

Despite all this, along the border of their realms is a single massive city. Though not neutral, it is the closest one can get Angels and Demons together without murdering each other. The high councils of the Angels and Demons have reluctantly decided on an experiment. Sealing off the city from the Angel and Demon lands, one member of each council will keep watch over the progress of the city for the next few months. If everyone within the city can get along, they'll continue trying to bond. If everything fails, the councils will ban further contact of Angels and Demons until something can be figured out.

Now then, for this RP you're trapped inside the city for the next few in-game months. There will be no time-skips greater than a day, and though you can play as any race there should be some Angels and Demons. Speaking of, there are various sub-races of Angels/Demons each with their own unique appearances/abilities and maybe general behavior. There'll be few pre-set races, and Magic/Science are rather progressed. The Angel and Demon Lord will have required resources brought in, though despite being trapped in this city there's plenty to do. As well, just because the Council has agreed on this and informed others, doesn't mean everyone agrees with them.

Are Demons inherently evil and Angels inherently good? Or is it more a Order Versus Chaos arrangement or can either be anything?

Neither are inherently good or evil, and morality is pretty open-ended regardless.
