[up][up] See, I actually let the animation slide, because the budget for the movie was gigantic, while the budget for the show must be a tenth of that. Just compare the amount of detail on the President's face in the movie. They could do that because they had the money. They can't do that here because they don't have the money.

Yeah, that's like complaining about the Disney sequels just because the animation doesn't look quite as good. It's not supposed to look super-great— that costs money and they're not going to put the same amount of money into a direct-to-video sequel. Or in this case, a TV show.

I find it annoying that in every Dreamworks TV show, they always try to have the designs mimic the ones in the movies as exactly as possible, when the budget and different resources in a different studio prohibits that.

[up][up][up] I let it slide with Penguins and Panda because those shows make their lower budget work. This show doesn't, in my opinion. Susan just looks creepy, and Not Colbert is almost as bad.

[up][up] Going with radically different designs will invoke They Changed It, Now It Sucks!, so it's kind of a loss-loss situation.

Oddly, CN managed to do good with the designs in the Dragons show. Not sure what the difference was.

Probably because they care more about the Dragons show.

I actually liked this a bit more than i thought i would. sure, bob can get annoying without seth rogen, and the animation is downgraded, but i can't fault the show for not having the budget of 140 mil movie. it was mostly funny, but is it me or did jeff bennet use the same voice he did in foodfight?

[up][up][up]Whether a movie is good or not has no affect on the budget for the show of the movie.

So let me get this straight. Stephen Colbert did voice work as a recurring character in Harvey Birdman: Attorney at Law, a TV SHOW, ..... but WASN'T available for a TV show based on Monsters Vs. Aliens?????

That's what I was saying, that it's like he's too good for TV voice acting now.

Ugh.

You can act like an animation fan all you want, Colbert, but tons and tons of people will question this move!

No, but some comment from the guy or the studio would be nice!

Remember: Stephen Colbert wasn't as big back when Harvey Birdman aired in 2001. He didn't even have the Colbert Report, that came in 2005. So stop acting as those are the same situations. For all we know, he doesn't have time to go and record his lines.

Until an official comment comes from him, I believe we should all shaddup.

This is also the guy who has a daily show where he has to research news stories, write jokes and record a twenty minute show with a group of people every weekday minus Friday, with only some two-week breaks here and there.

Also, saying Wreck-It-Ralph got robbed doesn't make you an animation fan. It makes you a person with common sense.

Also, maybe he's just learned enough about the show to decide he doesn't like it and doesn't want to take part in it. That's completely within his rights as well.

I didn't get to see the ep, only the commercial plugs. My shallow opinion is that BOB's tv appearance is not as cute as his film appearance. And also, I am not sure how they can turn this into a series, the film kind of summed everything up. It is different from Penguins and Kungfu, which are rather flexible.

Oh no, this is one of those children's TV show that believes that if they stay silent for one second, kids will lose their attention.
