It might not make him win in immediate profits, but it does work as advertising. If Kuga's profits fall and Souma's go up he could conceivably win on at least one day. I mean, that was the entire point of him picking to be next to Kuga in the first place.
Yeah, I like what Soma is doing here. It actually makes sense.
You know, I hope Kuga won't take this lying down but employs some counter strategy. Otherwise this would be embarrassing.
I'm sure he will. If he can't even do that he doesn't deserve to be in the Elite Ten.
That being said, he might not be able to do something for at least today. He'll wallop Souma's ass something fierce later, but I expect that today will Yukihira's day.
One Strip! One Strip! And Souma once again shows why he's not to be fucked with. Great.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.I don't doubt we'll see a counter strategy, but I hope it's something that's more clever than petty. Judging by Kuga's behavior so far I wouldn't be surprised by the latter.
Well so far he doesn't seem to be upset, but surprised.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.Actually I'm wondering if Kuga can manage a counter. Sure one-on-one, he's probably got the skills... but it's not just a one-on-one battle. His servers/club members trained for weeks to be able to replicate his signature dishes exactly. Trying to make changes now would mean they have to re-train on the fly while still maintaining the level of an Elite Ten member.
Souma on the other hand has just himself and Subaru. And Subaru's talent is practically Power Copying. That's gives Souma a lot more flexibility than Kuga has.
Oops.... I'm already read the history on Shokugeki No Soma. ._.
My bad edit, however, I will be more careful next time. :(

So, episode. Good thing for Souma that Mozuya was too proud to contact Eizan like she was suppose to, huh? Which made me think it might be good for Souma that he's going up against Kuga rather than Eizan, who probably would have shut him down hard in a sales contest regardless of quality.
I have to admit that the karaage roll is one of the few things in this series that I'd really like to try.
And don't worry Mayumi you get to spend time with Subaru cooking at Yukihira's in just a few months! That's just as good as the real thing, right?
The ED is still funny. And now Eizan is in it.
C'mon Arha. Subaru's entire schtick is that he's even better than the real thing.
I doubt she'll agree.
Also, I'm convinced that if Megumi and Mayumi ever meet:
- the universe will explode when two yellow eyed shrinking violets are in one place.
- They will have no choice but to fight to the death, for the same reason as above.
- They'll spend hours nervously trying to say hello.
But they'll likely never meet at all so it's a moot point.
One Strip! One Strip!Megumi will take a look, notice how unimportant Mayumi is and be like "My god! That could've been me!"
Chapter out. it seems everyone is helping.
Is that really fair, getting a bunch of people from other booths to help him?
Seems kinda like cheating to me.
One Strip! One Strip! Why would that be cheating?
So. Wonder how Souma just screwed him over? No match with the first seat, perhaps?
Why would that be cheating? I think there is no rule that forbids you from working at different boothes and what counts is the booth.
well, he just took his first place, so Shokugeki?
I am amused that Takumi not only reached Soma's pace easily, but even made a comment about Subaru being too slow.

Every accusation by the GOP is ALWAYS a confession.I don't know. It just feels like it's a little unfair that right when he was about to start slowing down, they all show up to help him out. I mean, if you could do that, then Kuga should be able to call on other Elite 10 members to help him out and bury Soma.
Then again, not only would they not do that, but he did have a whole army of cooks, so I suppose it's not really unfair at all when I think about it, just kinda convenient.
One Strip! One Strip!Kuga certainly could have called in other cooks, but there might not be much point. Apart from his club members, who would come if he asked? Besides, the problem with his restaurant wasn't that he was understaffed, but that he didn't have enough room to seat everyone that came.
Actually, that being said, his building preparations were flawed as well. I mean, I don't think this will come up, but he obviously spent a lot more than Souma did yet earned less money because he couldn't seat everyone. His cooks could only prepare one dish. He relied too much on his reputation and made no real moves to counter Souma in any way, even when he was becoming more of a threat and draining more customers by the day. Kuga screwed up in a lot of ways.

True dat.
So what were the conditions for Soma and Kuga's bet again?
It's slipped my mind.
One Strip! One Strip!Oh god, this ending was so cheesy it could be an episode of 80's cartoon. Just as Souma was getting overwhelmed by the same problems he accused Kuga of having, the other's just drop whatever they are doing and come help him because yay, friendship! And they even end the chapter with a group high-five and Souma's catchphrase. I half expected a The More You Know segment that would explain the Power of Friendship Aesop to kids too stupid to get it.
Maybe I'm overly negative, but I find this to be a very weak resolution to the whole thing.
So basically Kuga's "weakness" is that his restaurant is too popular? I dunno, I still don't think Souma can beat him in sales, but maybe stealing some of his customers will make Kuga fall from the first place and piss him off.
