King of Anime
Finished the anime. Anyone know if a second season has been confirmed/when a second season will be airing? I may or may not pick up the manga depending on the answer.

No second season has been confirmed, so I would just pick up the manga. Series ended on chapter 60, but there are two side chapters you should read 39.5 and 53.5(?)

Damn. I was hoping one had been announced because it ended on a cliffhanger of sorts and as much as I want to read the manga I also don't want to spoil myself.
As for the anime I enjoyed it. I expected Erina to be more involved since she's so prominent in the opening and ending themes but I've heard the anime improved on that in comparison to the manga so I can't be too upset. Ryouko's my favorite of the cast but Megumi is a close second so I'm happy that at least one of them has made it into the Autumn Selection and I'm impressed at how much Megumi has grown in such a short time. I'm also relieved because the way the subs I watched phrased things made it sound like losing the preliminaries would result in being expelled but I'm glad that wasn't the case because after seeing how high most of the Polar Star dorm members made it having them expelled would have been upsetting.
All in all it was an enjoyable watch and if I hadn't already declared Hibike! Euphonium my personal anime of the year it would be a good contender. 10/10. Needs a second season.

The manga is actually in the middle of an Erina arc of sorts hilariously.
The manga is in the top 5 of WSJ consistently tho, so a 2nd season is defintely possible. I'm concerned about the pacing tho, it ended right before one of the longest arcs in the series.

The arcs criticized length can be easily fixed by smartly adapting the right amount of chapters per episode & such.

Yeah it might not be as bad in the anime. The anime would spend an entire chapter just describing some random dish but the anime couldn't waste that much time if it tried.

They are really trying hard to convey how pathetic Eizan and his cronies are. Eizan face after Souma called him out on being a coward was amazing.

Obviously to make us think he'd go first, and thus lose, when he's really going second, and thus is going to win.
And with rare exceptions like Ryou vs Megumi that's how it works.

I enjoyed Rindo's reaction to Eizan's dish. Her reaction felt more like "Yeah, this tastes like something Eizan would make" than "omfg this is the best thing evar *strips*"

So yeah, I'm feeling a lot better about Soma beating him now. They're just doing a very good job of wanting to slap that douchey smirk off of Eizan's and those dick judges' faces.

Yeah, but that color page makes the resemblance much bigger. Like, the blood red hair. The golden eyes, even the lips. It's kinda creepy.

There was a color page of that chapter, trust me the comparison has not gone unnoticed.
Since she's the subject; I'm assuming since she has a rather uncanny resemblance to him, she's related to Soma in some way isn't she.
