Battlefield 1942 with a modern setting and engine would suit me down to the ground.
Schild und Schwert der ParteiOh, another one: Boats worth a damn. Not constantly patching. Be out on the goddamn 360 or I will kick your ass. More Guns, More Vehicles, More Meatgrinder style maps, more Open all-out vehicle maps, more in-between maps.
Challenger 2. AH-64D. V-22 Osprey. F-22. F-15E. PAK-FA. Chinese, Israeli, British, French, German, Canadian.
EDIT: Harrier. Black Hawk. M32 MGL. Eurofighter.

They do have medals for almost, and they're called silver! It was mentioned in a supposed leak that China would be a third faction.
this place needs me hereThat's the one I want the least. To have China realistic, every one of their guns and vehicles would have to be crappier than the Russians or Americans.
They do have medals for almost, and they're called silver! You have to remember that as far as EA seems to be concerned right now the only nations in the world are 'MURICA, Russia, China and the Arab bloc.
Yes, because a Type-56 is totally a worse weapon than the average AR-15 clone.

"Yup. That tasted purple."I want to use the goddamn Challenger 2, kettle and all.
They do have medals for almost, and they're called silver!Give me back the commander. I want a commander. Commander was awesome. I loved the commander. In the case I forgot to mention it, add the commander.
Pour y voir clair, il suffit souvent de changer la direction de son regard www.xkcd.com/386/Modern military setting where Americans fight a rogue Russian who has a nuke. Blue and Orange coloring everywhere, and heavy bloom and blue filters.
The Type 56 hasn't been standard issue (or even much reserve issue) in the PLA since the 1980s. The present day standard issue rifle is the QBZ-95 (Type 95) bullpup assault rifle. Modern Warfare 3 had that rifle in multiplayer, Black Ops II had its light machine gun variant the QBB-95.
In reserve arms there's the Type 81 which was the successor of the Type 56. It's being phased out by the QBZ-03 in the police outfits.
@Topic:
Fix your damn controls (vehicle controls are CLUNKY, Halo had em right for 10 years! No excuses!), make a story worth a damn, make anti-vehicle weapons actually worth a damn like the Stinger killing choppers in one hit not this disabled crap, pitch the clunky class mechanics ("Here's your ammo pick it up!" "Here's your medkit pick it up!"), and fucking differentiate the fucking weapons!
BF 3 also have QBZ in...just saying.
And there goes my plan of buying BF 3 premium...might or might not buy this though...

Give me cute or give me...something?It was meant as a rebuttal of GCR's idea that being Chinese-made automatically makes something crap.
"Yup. That tasted purple."The Chinese have a great production base, but not that many good engineers.
They do have medals for almost, and they're called silver! You just want to drop tanks on snipers, don't you?
"Yup. That tasted purple."...
YOU CAN DO THAT?
Yes, that's kind of what "cartillery" is.
"Yup. That tasted purple."...
Bring back Commander. Please.
It takes a lot of teamwork to do, since someone has to spot the sniper and make sure they don't displace. If they know they've been made a good sniper will move to another firing position before the Humvee even spawns.
"Yup. That tasted purple."Can I spawn aircraft carriers and throw them at the enemy team's base?
Not a lot of teamwork. You had a scan as a commander that revealed every enemy on the map, so you had no trouble spotting camping snipers. Worst thing was that you were denying your team a transport vehicle (which was often quite important, getting a squad into the fight a minute earlier). What I really liked about it is that a good commander vs a bad could make a whole lot of difference, and that the commander assets where some additional tactical goal to destroy or repair.
Do you want to scream "HULK SMASH!!!!!" while you do that?

Jonah FalconI'd just like to see them be creative with the setting for once and avoid the typical modern warfare cliche. It's gotten to the point that there's actually a shooter out there whose sole existence is to prove just how fucked up the whole 'You/America Saves the Day' trope is, so it's about high time they either focus on some obsure, yet interesting war or potential flashpoint, or return to the 2142 timeline in order to flex their creative muscles.
Sadly, from what little I've heard, it looks like they're just planning to use the same setting, so I'm probably gonna just stick to BF 3 and sit this one out...
About the only way you'd do that is have China be the enemy for once. And I don't mean no pussy Cold War type shit.
Of course EA doesn't have the balls to be ballsy like that. Gotta play it safe and always be the Russians or Not-quite-Middle-Eastern-terrorists-who-have-far-more-military-prowess-than-they-should. (It doesn't help EA either in the Dueling Games sense that the Russian-themed Modern Warfare series actually had a plot and for a modern setting a pretty good one at that.)
You could always have a world wide coalition against the USA. After the USA became evil. Now THAT would be something new.
[edit]
... and you play an American who is getting disillusioned after a few missions, and switches sides to topple the new and evil US government.
