It's a new cartoon!

"Shipped Out", in which Mickey and Minnie have a VIP treatment on a cruise! ...But does "VIP" necessarily mean "very important people" in this case?

I think in this instance...

VIP = Very invasive people...

Man, these shorts keep getting better and better in my opinion.

Cool, but I like to think that in the case of Mickey and Minnie:

VIP = "very injured people"

Nice guys finish first, in over 40 years time...probably could've had over 40 other races within that time.

Ha, "Shipped Out" is exactly what happens if you book an all-inclusive Disney World vacation. If you want to use everything you paid for, you end up with a vacation like this.

Speaking of Walt Disney World, I hear The Great Movie Ride will be replaced with a roller coaster based off the Paul Rudish Mickey Mouse shorts.

We're getting a new Halloween episode on October 7th.

I'm really loving these shorts. Especially references that are sometimes obscure to ones that fans of the classic Disney cartoons fans can catch.

New Short: Nature's Wonderland

Mishaps ensues as Mickey and Minnie Mouse search for Rainbow land.

It's not nature's forest, but a close second.

Oh gosh, this is a big Shout-Out to the extinct Disney ride called Rainbow Caverns Mine Train. I wonder if anyone knows about that ride.

I just assumed it was Big Thunder Mountain.

I could see the Big Thunder Mountain references, but it really seems to be a shout out to that extinct ride. I know obvious references are common, but obscurer ones are just pure Genius Bonus.

Literally the first time I heard of such an attraction.

But yeah, it's got the balancing rock and everything.

These writers have really done their Disney homework, haven't they?

Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is a rollercoaster at Disneyland (and Disneyworld's Magic Kingdom?) in Frontierland, and probably one of the more popular attractions for Disneyland. It's been around for years.

Big Thunder was what replaced Nature's Wonderland at Disneyland. Quite a few assets in the shorts are direct lifts from stuff relating to the original Nature's Wonderland attraction: The Map, the Rainbow Caverns poster, and the music in the caverns itself.

I don't know about you, but Nature's Wonderland really is one of those extinct attractions that I think is a shame that they took down. As said before, kudos to the Mickey Mouse cartoon team for focusing on a lesser known ride that has kind of faded from memory. I also like those animal animatronics and the narration used for the attraction, because it looks like a wild west counterpart to River Boat tours.

By the way, the title card has the globe from the True-Life Adventures show Disney did. I saw one episode from said show on Treasures from the Disney Vault, so I recognize the globe.

Also, that rock they landed on after falling down the waterfall looks an awful lot like one of the rocks that used to crush Wile E. Coyote in the Road Runner cartoons.

Also, at 0:48, animated Walt Disney's head winking sighting ho! This is the second time at least we've seen Walt personally, after Tokyo Go.

Second preview of the Halloween special.

Hey, look! Mickey's nephews Mortie and Ferdie! These are characters that we rarely see in the Mickeyverse. More obscure characters, please!

...... I'm beginning to realize this is another half-hour special, like they made with Duck The Halls.
