Did Google get domain hijacked or is it just me?

For some odd reason going to www.google.com redirects me to Facebook. This site's own Google search gets routed to Facebook too.

From a security perspective this concerns me greatly since this could be an indicator my security is either compromised or something else is afoot. (DNS poisoning?)

Which is even more odd because on my end nothing indicates a browser hijack. Even more odd, my Gmail works but the rest doesn't. (A browser hijack would disable even that.)

...Well, I don't have any issue personally Oo

Then again, I'm using Google.fr, maybe the issue is localized to the US...

Nah, I'm American and http://www.google.com is working fine.

Maybe it has something to do with Chrome using https?

I meant that maybe it being fine had something to do with the HTTPS thing.

What browser are you guys on? If it's IE, switch to Firefox or Chrome. IE sucks anyhow.

Also, try deleting your cookies and all that jazz.

^^ I haven't used IE in years. Currently running Firefox 19.0.

And I am presently running a full security scan and I haven't found a thing.

Even more interesting, I can get limited Google functionality beyond the http://www.google.com/ namespace even the search provided the the last "/" directory moniker is not empty (like if I go to search from Gmail and click the upper links).

Even odder, Google search through the Firefox default start page works and the Firefox default still works casting some evidence to the contrary of a browser hijack.

Security analysis still ongoing.

Odd. After a power failure (damn blizzard going on outside), the problem seemed to have resolved itself. Re-running security analysis to verify but earlier evidence did not initially point to a browser hijack.

Possible DNS poisoning/error in my cache or records. DZA unlikely.

They pick the worst ways to try that. I've told them before, I have a working radio and email!

Well my security analysis is complete.

Avira Antivirus scan results: No detections, 1 false positive.

Microsoft Safety Scanner: No detections.

Network analysis: No anomalies.

Symptom analysis: Problem intermittent at worst, one time event at best.

Likely causes: DNS resolution error (local or regional network), DNS poisoning (local gigapop probable).

Course of action taken: None at the moment. Situation is intermittent and unreplicable. Further security measures may be needed however.

Addendum: There seems to be a security certificate error related to this but the certificate belongs to Facebook, not Google.
