This is the Discussion Thread for “Edge Town”, a Dresden Files RPG set in the city of Las Vegas. Sign ups can be found here and the Main RP here. Below are the Rules and Guidelines for this RP. Please read, take to heart, etc etc.

OOC and Discussion Guidelines-

1. This is not Pre-School, you are not obligated to be nice. You are however, obligated to be civil. Act like a dick wad at your own peril, I have no patience for it.
2. This is my Mod Voice. When I speak in my Mod voice, shut up and listen. Any disputes and serious questions will be answered in this voice. This voice is also final.
3. I don’t mind getting off topic, and in fact I encourage it with gusto, since I do it all the time. But if someone tries to steer us back on topic, or has something to say on topic. Listen.
4. In accordance with the above, please also avoid Flame Bait and/or bashing. G Iven the nature of the series, some hot-button stuff is going to come up, but be reasonable about it. No hyperbole, generalizations, straw mans, or any other kind of logical fallacy please.
5. Similarly discussions about other R Ps, books, shows, whatever, are fine, as long as it doesn't get out of hand. If someone asks you to take it to another thread because it’s distracting then please do.

IC and Main Post Rules-

1. We are doing this freeform and post-by-post. I’m relying on the good character and intellect of those participating for this part. No god-moding, no auto-hitting, no ghosting.
2. As GM I am granting myself the following powers- control over all Non Player Characters, control over the setting, right to arbitrate all OOC conflicts as I see fit, right to enforce the other rules as I see fit, right to push things in one direction or another as I see fit, using such tools as: random monster attacks, sudden plot twists, or really bad jokes.
3. In the event we get internally contradictory (which is inevitable in no small part because of the sheer number of people involved) please point out the continuity snafu so I can work it out. If I need to tell you to reword, change, or retcon something. I will. I will also do it in Mod Voice only, so their is no doubt about what I am asking and why.
4. Don’t hesitate to ask me anything or everything. If you’re worried someone’s toeing the line with any rules or guidelines, let me know. Despite appearances I do not in fact spend every waking hour attached to my computer- no matter how much it might feel that way, so if I am slow to jump on a situation, it’s most likely because I am not here to see it unfold. I answer and respond to all P Ms, if you want to be sure I’ll see something, or don’t want to bring it up in the thread.
5. In the same vein, have no fear about bringing up issues with me. I’m a bit insane about self-improvement and perfectionism. You feel there is a way I could be doing better let me know, bluntly and forwardly. I promise I will listen.
6. I reserve the word “evil” for very few things outside Mac Computers and Sugar-Free Ice Cream. One of those things is bad spelling and grammar. If you are having problems with it, I will give you fair warning. If it continues, I will hammer you on it relentlessly, but I won't remove you, since doing so would make me a big fat hypocrite. If English is not your first language and you’re running into trouble, ask someone in thread to look over your posts before you put them up, we have great people around these parts and I’m sure one or more would be willing to help.
7. My job description, is quite literally to torment and torture your characters to the best of my ability. I take this responsibility very seriously, and if you have a sub-plot idea or a helpful nudge in the right direction to help me out on that count, I will be deeply appreciative.
8. I reserve the right to transfer my powers of GM to a person or persons of my choosing in the event that I need a break from all you mouth breathing little monsters the stress of being GM.
9. In the event that player is absent for more then three days without prior notice, character in question will revert to NPC status until their player returns.
10. Have fun. Not-having-fun will result in immediate banning and forty good smacks from a wet noodle.

In general point- SO MUCH SET UP.

Well, while I wait I'm gonna guess what trouble you have set up for the two wardens.

There's a bomb in their room and the phone call is just to confirm their presence before it goes off.

It's gonna be a cryptic message that leads them all over the place but in entirely the wrong direction from the warlock.

Leon is somehow gonna be cursed over the phone.

It's Loki trying to hire the wardens to get the Hammer back.

It's Odin trying to hire the wardens to get the Hammer back.

It's Johnny Marcone trying to hire the wardens to get him the hammer.

It's the ghost of Dresden telling them to burn a building down.

It's the Merlin asking them what the hell is taking so long.

It's Mc Coy telling them to get out of town cause he's gonna drop a satellite on it.

It's Injun Joe telling them Shagnasty is on the loose.

It's the Gatekeeper telling them there's a mothra-esque Outside on the way.

It's Sanya saying something awesome/hilarious.

It's Nicodemus offering one of them a coin.

Hmmmmm...

It's Darth Wannabe cursing them for breaking one of his weak ass curses.

Hmmm... I forgot something for Luccio and Uriel. Darn. And Ramirez.

I can't think of anything good for Uriel.

All I can think about for Luccio is one of those like mission briefings over the phone and then the phone explodes.

Nothing good for Ramirez either.

Carlos has a mission. It will require all of you skill, talent, and most of all, discretion. The mission is: Help him lose his virginity.

That's a pretty good one. Not that Leon would be much help in that regard. He's in the same boat after all. I don't know about Gabren though.

Gabren's a playboy. Lost his virginity at age 13. Fooled around with one of his maids.

That would actually be something that could be solved. Two birds with one stone.

Because the most loaded plot lines have stuff to respond to. I mean, I've been holding back on making a post because my character's current agenda is just to sit back and let people tell him things.

Because I'm determined to claim the "first on-screen kill of the chronicle" award?

Well that's no fair. The only way I could pull that off is if Leon spontaneously turns evil and shoots Gabren in the back.

Well everyone's plot lines are interconnected in a broad sense, and everyone is loaded with their own stuff, but what's going on with Alexander, Nadya, and the Wardens are probably the most complicated right off the bat.
