Playing games on your Vita would preclude the need for a Vita.

Which is slowly but surely getting worth. I'm tempted to get it for Soul Sacrifice alone.

Well, yes, but that's not the point that's being made. The point is that every PS 4 game will be capable of being played through the Vita. For example the PSP was capable of Remote Play with the PS 3, but it was pretty useless because hardly any games were compatible with it. That's probably what they're trying to avoid this time.

If E3 can sell me on the Vita unlike last year, it could convince me to get one.

I'm wondering if someone will do something interesting with the Vita and PS 4 connectivity game wise. I mean I don't remember anything really good being done with the PSP and the PS 3 in that regard. I suppose it could be because of my bad memory but still.

Kojima did something with it in Peace Walker in the HD Collection. I can't remember what.

Of course they would. It's a nice piece of portable tech that needs more love.

I need for it to have better games. If it had been backwards-compatible I'd have bought it in a heartbeat.

599 US dollars is not going to happen for PS 4. Earlier in the year, either February or March, there was an interview with Sony's Jack Tretton, and he acknowledged that 599 US dollars was a mistake for PS 3, and that they were interested in a more consumer-friendly price for the PS 4.

You don't say, "Oh, yes, $599 was too much" and then release another console at the same price. I'm betting $499 tops, and I wouldn't be at all surprised to see it lower.
