Thought that Homsar was here. (Look at the background behind him)

Maybe he's on Planet Namek...probably still there too :P

OP suggestion would not resize well to 350, and is basically JAFAAC (just with the caption rolled into the image).

However, 2 definitely works (the upside-down background helps sell it considerably), and I definitely agree that Homsar is the best fit here.

Well that was easy :D I was also gonna suggest Homestar himself or Nova from the Creatures but:

1. Homestar isn't nearly as weird as Homsar 2. Couldn't get a good enough image of Nova and again, Homsar was weirder.

So we're in agreement for Image 2? If so, what would the caption be? I suggest:

"Was raised by a cup of coffee. Apparently."

2 seems like JAFAAC to me. Without having any exposure to Homestar Runner other than knowing what it is, he looks... like a Homestar Runner character.

The upside-down background you spoke of... doesn't look like an upside down background, really. I would never in a million years thought that was the case.

What do you mean it doesn't look like an upside-down background? How often do you see blue grass and green skies?

For one, the background is so out of focus that without context it doesn't look like much of anything. Could be in front of a painted wall, or standing in front of a tree. Or the blue could be water. Or any number of things.

But really, I wouldn't notice it at all because it's just not that emphasized.

I can understand saying it's not illustrative.... But how does the background doesn't look upside down? The "floor"'s got visible clouds and the "sky" has visible bushes...

Like I said, in retrospect I can see it, but I wouldn't think that going into it. And even then, I'd probably just assume that he's standing in front of a tree with the trunk cropped out.

What I do think would illustrate it better is if the image were flipped upside down.

Now it doesn't look so unusual. How do we know he's levitating? If we go with Homestar himself, how about this?◊ We'd need permission though.

Out of curiosity, are there non-JPG versions of these images? The blurriness on the edges of objects is rather distracting.

Pretty sure the background is blurred / out of focus, intentionally.

Being a cloudcuckoolander has nothing to do with stoically levitating upside-down. :/ I'm sure he's delightfully whimsical in context, but it's clearly JAFAAC.

Agreed, but I already chimed in.

I'd make a counter-suggestion, but I can't spend the time to go through the page examples right now and the only thing that comes to mind is Hyperbole◊ and a◊ Half◊.

I'm not really sure it's an improvement over nothing, but it's at least not worse than nothing.

Reclocked this one, as (if I'm reading right) we're right on the verge of consensus for Homsar but not quite there. Let's just do a vote-by-post.
