Ah, goody! Someone who wants to play Gambit!
Hm. Just looking over your sign-up, squire: the continuity of these games don't exactly match up with the conventional Marvel/DC history. Case in point: the Morlock Massacre hasn't happened yet, and Storm hasn't yet done battle with the Shadow King. Now, those events could conceivably happen in the future, but in the meantime, you might want to think about tweaking the backstory there.
Also: the current in-game day for Jump City is quite a way away from finishing, so you might be waiting a while for a chance to jump in. By contrast, the original game in the Justice Avengers family, Dawn Over New York, is just beginning a new status quo. You can send your stuff to the sign-up-thread for that game, or you can stick to your guns and stay with this one. Your choice.
I think I'll bring my stuff over to the original game then, with the backstory tweaked to fit continuity.
- Name: Doom Patrol: The Chief, Robotman, Negative Man, Elastigirl, and Mento.
- Real Names: Dr.Caulder, Cliff Steel, Larry, Rita Farr, and Steve Dayton.
- Genders: All male except for Rita, who is female.
- Age: Rita's 29, Larry's 31, Cliff is 39, Mento is 45, and the Chief is 50.
- Appearance: Just ignore the little purple-masked runt in the front, and you have your motley crew. And their kinda-sorta friend.◊
- Personality: The Chief, leader of the DP, can seem detached and analytical at times, but he truly does care about the betterment of mankind and it's welfare. Robotman is rather straightfoward, aggressive, reckless, impulsive, etc, and can be a bit dense, though he's no idiot. Negative Man's really a chipper, upbeat guy at heart, though his... 'condition' has left with something of a chip on his soldier. Robotman tends to bring out the worst of him, as the two are prone to quite an amount of bickering and squabbling. And lastly, there's Elastigirl, the Team Mom. Strong willed, sensible, responsible and practical, but also kind and caring. The whole group is something of a family. Cliff and Larry are like brothers, always fighting with each other, but also caring about each other a great deal. Rita's the big sister, keeping the two boys in line while also being the source of many of the two's arguments. And Chief is the Team Dad, the one who brought the team together and gave them a purpose again; the one they all look up to and adore. But every family has it's meddling next door neighbor, and Mento serves that role adequately. The only reason he's a Superhero is because he was attracted to Rita, and so keeps on barging in and helping out in attempts to win her. Though to be fair, he more than carries his weight, surprisingly enough. He's stuffy, egoistical, and doesn't really care about Superheroics, but he does care for Rita, and is willing to do anything for her, even if begrudgingly.
- Powers and Abilities: The Chief has no special powers of his own, (and cannot walk,) but he is very smart, and his wheel chair is outfitted with various weapons and aruments, such as a buzzsaw and a flamethrower.
- Robotman is Exactly What It Says on the Tin; a brain in a robot body that's very strong and very durable. He can also turn the soles of his feet electromagnetic, allowing him to walk on walls and ceilings, and he's also resistant to telepathic assaults or illusions.
- Negative Man is constantly radioactive, and must always be covered with specially treated bandages to keep the radioactivity locked inside. At the same time, he also possess the mysterious 'Negative Spirit', a powerful being that's incredibly fast, strong, and can only be hurt by blasts, beams, rays, etc., of energy or electricity. It can also fly, and when it passes through something or someone, the damage done can be lethal. The downside to all this is that while the spirit is outside of Negative Man's body, Larry himself is incredibly weakened, and can only stay conscious just enough to guide Negative Man to where he wants him to go. On top of that, if the Negative Man is outside of Larry's body longer than 60 seconds, there is a chance Larry will die, and the chance increases the longer the spirit is outside of Larry's body. However, if Larry's body is frozen or otherwise put into stasis, then the spirit can stay out indefinitely.
- Elastigirl can shrink or grow either parts of herself, or her entire body. She can increase her size up to 100 ft, and shrink herself to microscopic size. However, at this point, she has never shrank that far, and usually shrinks down at the most to the size of an upright dime.
- Mento wears a helmet of his own design that grants him powerful telepathic and telekinetic abilities, though it only works because of his own brain. He himself is not telepathic, but he does possesses latent ability; ability that his helmet brings out.
- Origin: Cliff Steel, Larry Trainor, and Rita Farr all used to be ordinary individuals; a race-car driver, a jet pilot, and a B-movie actor respectively. And each of them faced a tragic incident which completely altered their lives. Cliff decided he should just put a little moore oomph into his mileage on a final lap; the result was a burning wreckage, and a completely totaled body that had to be scrapped, with Cliff's brain being placed within a robotic body built by Dr.Caulder. Larry, in a test-flight, came across a mysterious yellow cloud unlike any ever seen. Rather than staying the hell away from it, he instead wanted to see what was inside. When he came out, he became filled with deadly radioactivity, as well as the mysterious Negative Spirit. Rita Farr was involved in the last stages of the final scene of her latest film, 'Hairy Horrendous Hoards of Hoggoth', with the aforementioned scene involving her having just escaped from an alien ship and falling into a waterfall. Rather than use a stunt double, Rita elected to do it herself, (as she often did,) Unfortunately, the shoot went horribly wrong, and Rita wound up falling straight over the waterfall. But when she emerged, not only was she miraculously unhurt, but she was changed, and perhaps not for the better. On the one hand, she could grow and shrink, and still looked perfectly human. On the otherhand, she was unable to control her abilities at first, and soon made short work of her career before she finally got a handle on it. And as if that weren't enough, she would eventually discover that her condition was actually a 'condition'; not only did she now have powers, but she was also slowly dying, having only 10 years at the most.
- And then the Chief stepped in. Having both built Cliff's body and invented Larry's specially treated bandages, he already knew of those two, and soon heard about Rita. He saw in them an opportunity to make up for his own tragic past, which led to him winding up in a wheelchair. He is a man of secrets and mystery, but this much is clear; he truly cares about the wellbeing of mankind, and seeks to use the Doom Patrol to improve it, as well as to help the DP'ers make meaning of their new lives. After stopping a terrorist bomb attack on their first case, the DP decided to stick together, and since then, have become a lot like a family. A somewhat strange, dysfunctional family, but a family nonetheless. And finally, there was Mento, who built his helmet to gain Rita's affections, and often tags alongs with the Patrol despite not being an official member. Just where Mento, Elastigirl, and the rest of the Patrol will go from here, only time will tell...

If I may make a suggestion; The Chief and Professor Xavier may know each other, and the latter got the idea of helping "freaks" (in his case, mutants) be accepted by society by having them act as superheroes from the former (historically, the Patrol debuted just a few months before the X-Men.)
Oh, and the Chief does have a power, though it's not an openly known one: he's immortal, from having used the same formula as his arch-enemy General Immortus. Of course that doesn't have to be canon here.

Good idea, at least as far as the Professor and and the Chief's relationship. As for the Chief being immortal, I think I'll just leave that out. For all intents and purposes, this is the Silver Age Doom Patrol, and I don't remember it ever being stated or hinted at that the Chief was immortal there.
All I can tell you is that it's a pre-Crisis fact, as it was listed in DC's Who's Who. I never saw an actual reference to it. Maybe the fact Chief's head survived being cut off (in the 90's) had something to do with it. I certainly didn't care for that.
Ud: Are the heroes aware of what Rocket's signal means? And how do they track it? (presumably he told them off-camera.)

First of all, wrong thread. And yes, I am assuming Rocket told everyone beforehand about his plan, including making this STRIKE's debut.
DAMMIT MARK, STOP HOTTING HELPY!!@Lizard: Have you looked at my Sign-up yet?
You know what completely slipped my mind? This thing.
Accepted. But we'll have to see where a good spot to slot you into the story is. That might take a little while more.
Exactly. Ever since I finished Green Arrow's retool, I haven't had a clue where to fit him in. I think I'll need some serious help here, with both GA and the DP.
It seems like a breakout might happen at the Prison (what with Raze and Mystique) so GA could show up in that.
Green Arrow could help finish off the Gang Fight. The Patrol could step up to help the West Coast JA deal with the Bang Babies (possibly getting mistaken for mutates themselves, leading to the classic heroes-fighting-by-mistake scenario. )
Only hero here that would make such a stupid cliche mistake would be Thor, since he's a bit of a Blood Knight.
DAMMIT MARK, STOP HOTTING HELPY!!The Bang Babies sounds good, but someone's going to have to explain exactly what's going on. I've read some of Milestone, but in the original comics, the Big Bang was a background event, and the comics themselves started later. How's it happening here?
There was this huge gang war that occurred as a story arc that occurred in an area of the docks that had tons of unstable chemicals lying around. However, it turns out that AIM (Advance Idea Mechanics) had planted these experimental mutagenic chemicals at that exact spot, knowing full well that they would inevitably explode in the fighting for the sole purpose of testing out the chemicals in a large enough wide-scale, time and cost reduced manner that would ultimately prevent the incident to being traced back to them.
DAMMIT MARK, STOP HOTTING HELPY!!And now, the survivors are becoming freaks and superhumans, and it's complete and total chaos. Gotcha'. This actually sounds like something right up the DP's ally...
Probably should have announced this three days ago, but oh well.
Superman related characters are now allowed in!
Yes, that's right, folks. Superman is now an established part of the Justice Avengers Universe. That means that it would be feasible for heroes and villains directly related to him to start cropping up!
Please note that he's only been active for three months so far, so careful how you do his backstory. Also there are some changes to Kryptonians in this verse to watch out for, and, as always, be reasonable in regard to strength levels. But apart from that, have a good time with it!
I would like to join if you don't mind too terribly.
Name: Echo.
Real Name: Maya Lopez.
Gender: Female.
Age: Mid 20s.
Appearance: http://ts1.mm.bing.net/th?id=HN.608040380037271461&pid=1.7
Alignment: Good.
Personality: She trusts most heroes but hates working with masked people due to her deafness making it hard for her to understand them.
Powers and Abilities: Can copy any fighting style but is unable to fight in any situation where her sight is unavailable.
Weapons and Equipment: Can take weapons from Mooks and use them against them.
Origin: Her father was killed by the Kingpin; the Kingpin, in return, took her in as his own. She was sent to a school for disabilities, where she excelled. When she was an adult, she found out Kingpin killed her father and blinded him in retaliation. Horrified by what she did, she decided to become a hero to help put people like Kingpin to justice without mutilating them. So basically her normal backstory.

It's been 3000 years…Probably would ruin future plotline potential if Kingpin was blinded early on, but otherwise I think the G Ms would accept this one.
DAMMIT MARK, STOP HOTTING HELPY!!- Name: Hawkeye
- Real Name: Clint Barton
- Gender: Male
- Age: 29
- Appearance: Right here◊
- Alignment: Hero
- Personality: Hawkeye almost prides himself on being an "everyman" among heroes. He appears to prefer the prospect of chilling on his couch with a cold beer watching cartoons to actual heroism. Despite this, Clint is more dedicated to training than perhaps anyone, bitter at his lack of powers and almost resentful of heroes who possess superhuman abilities.
- Powers and Abilities:
- Marksmanship: Constant years of training have turned Clint into the world's greatest marksman with a bow and arrow.
- Peak physical condition: While he may not possess superpowers, Clint is far from an ordinary man. He is more than capable of going hand-to-hand with expert fighters, and is extremely agile.
- Trick Arrows: Clint possesses quite a few trick arrows for specialised purposes, including but not limited to a net arrow, smoke bomb arrow, and boomerang arrow.
- Weapons and Equipment: Bow and Arrow, with the following trick arrows◊.
- Origin:
- At a young age, both of Clint Barton's parents died in a tragic car accident. Fed up with the orphanage they were forced to live in, Clint and his older brother Barney ran off to join the circus. It was there at the Carson Carnival of Travelling Wonders that Clint was taken on as assistant the The Swordsman. It was the Swordsman, alongside fellow supervillain Trickshot, who trained Clint to become an expert with the bow and arrow.
- Upon discovering that The Swordsman had been embezzling money from the carnival, Clint chose to turn his former mentor over to the authorities. However, before he could do so, Clint was beaten and left for dead. Waking up in a hospital several days later, he found that the carnival had skipped town. Clint hadn't seen The Swordsman, Trickshot or his brother Barney since.
- Clint continued to work as a star attraction at circuses all over the country. It was upon seeing the increasing number of superheroes appearing on the news that Clint was inspired to quit the circus business and use his abilities to fight crime.
My apologies, completely forgot to approve this one. So: Hawkeye's accepted.
My only regret is that I didn’t get this character in time for the Mirror Dimension, were he could have had a dance-off with himself.
•Name: Star Lord
•Real Name: Peter Quill
•Gender: Male
•Age: Twenty something
•Appearance: Space Hero! [1]◊
•Alignment: Good, but watch your pockets.
•Personality: Peter is a nice guy with a hero streak that also happens to be really good at stealing stuff.
•Powers and Abilities: Aside from some competence in hand-to-hand combat, marksmanship, and wicked dance moves, Peter has no superhuman abilities.
•Weapons and Equipment: Peter has access to a wide variety of equipment from the greater galactic scene. Some of them include his own ship, a translator chip jammed into his neck, and a pair of energy pistols that he carries most everywhere he goes. He also has access to a few colleagues he insists on calling the Guardians of the Galaxy, though mostly they’re just a bunch of a-holes.
•Origin: Plucked from the planet as a child for some unknown purpose, Peter was raised by space outlaws and naturally became one. Now he roams the stars, known and feared by the moniker of Star Lord by almost no one and saving approximately as many people as he hurts.

If I had that kind of power, I'd have dropped a meteor on your house ages ago~Except when he doesn't, apparently, since he'll be shacking up in Jump City.
Yippee! I have an excuse all worked out.
