That's called typecasting.
Also, Grey De Lisle: Either Perky Goth characters, moody characters, or just generally upbeat yet possibly harrowed girls.

For the record Kevin Michael Richardson also voiced the best version of The Joker (yeah that's right better than DCAU 's voiced by Mark Hamill)

Speaking of Mark Hamill, he's probably the most prolific villain voice actor in recent times.

Steve Blum seems to be the go to guy for a badass, though that may be because at this point, he definitely is one.

Like the title says; certain voice actors seem to follow certain patterns with their characters-
Nancy Carthwright- sarcastic women who, at times, talk too much, but then reveal just how dangerous they can be when sufficiently provoked
Will Friedle- characters who tend to have a lot of bad luck, but undoubtedly possess the skills needed to get the job done
Kevin Michael Richardson- Characters who are enormous, strong and/or intimidating
Hynden Walch- Slightly talkative females who might come off as pretty naive, especially when out of their element, but when it really counts, they prove to be people that you don't want to mess with.
Greg Cipes- Goofy characters who often act childish at times, but then show just how menacing they can be when play time is over.
Ashley Johnson- Bright yet slightly shy characters who often hide a more insecure side to their personalities
Dante Basco- Characters who tend to make a lot of mistakes and don't always get as many breaks as the other characters of the show. Yeah, i guess you could say that because they're willing to admit when they've made a mistake, that makes them respectable people, but still.
Mae Whitman- Outspoken women who might come off as being all talk know-it alls at first. But in truth, they're people who will stand by what they believe in and will fight for what they think is right. They're also very effective fighters when need be and will quite literally tear you to pieces if sufficiently provoked.
Tom Kenny- Sometimes goofy, sometimes annoyingly intelligent, sometimes just conmen or innocent pranksters
Wayne Knight- All talk characters who don't usually back up what they say
Clancy Brown- Sometimes charismatic, yet egotistical characters, sometimes menacing characters with deep booming voices, sometimes just authority figures with bad tempers.
