Predictably, the Walkers acted exactly as I thought they would with "Island Adventure". Lars isn't everybody's favorite character sure, but man can these guys hold a grudge if theres something they don't like. Saying he's completely unsympathetic is missing the mark by quite a bit.
While I agree they hold a grudge, Lars wasn't their main criticism of the episode.
Um, does anyone know we have a new episode sometime this week? And it's on Rose's Sword?
I think it have come up, yeah. We have seem the preview too.
In fairness it wasn't, and I had to watch it a few times to appreciate it fully. So I get it, but I still get uncomfortable Korra flashbacks when they get like that.
I can't wait.
They didn't like Korra? I didn't follow their vlogs much. I kinda disliked Rob being there, considering he had watched the show already.
x4 Oh yes.
@ Doug and Rob vlogs, I just hope they're not the kind of people who hate Pearl after it becomes apparent how messed up in the head she is.
Loves feel-good animation a whole lot.Where's that vlog? I can't find it.
Oh God! Natural light! She's not wrong though, babies can be pretty gross.
Loves feel-good animation a whole lot. They eventually got around to liking Korra, but that wasn't until mid season 3. Before that point, main character bashing was very common.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who watches the Walker vlogs. Totally not apologizing for Island Adventure being one of my favorite episodes.
Currently writing something. Currently procrastinating.Regarding that Pearl image: not only are babies gross, but it's essentially the deceased love of her life manifested as a small child.
Kinda why Snape hates Harry.
Ok, having now watched it...yeah, Island Adventure was never one of my favorite episodes. That said, I hope they're willing to allow themselves to change their opinion on Lars if he merits it...I'm not sure if he really has, though. How would you guys view his relationship with Sadie?
Oh God! Natural light!Kinda like a more kid-friendly Harley and Joker. He clearly uses her affections as an advantage to get off easier.
I wouldn't mind it so bad as each episode revolving around them seems to have Lars realize he can't keep this up, but he suffers from massive Aesop Amnesia.

To be fair the Walker brothers thought Lars was okay in the episode. They had a problem with Sadie hiding the warp pad and trapping them there. They said they would have been okay with her doing that if her hiding it was played for comedy. But since it's played serious they didn't sympathise with her.
They also don't see their relationship going anywhere so far. Which it kind of doesn't even after this episode. So I agree there.
Personally I liked that episode for Steven, and the monster. I didn't like it for the parts about Lars and Sadie's relationship.

As far as we know, Lars hasn't murdered anyone.
He's a jerk, no doubt about it. And he'd be unpleasant to deal with in real life. But even then, I'd still consider him sympathetic and a decent person when it comes down to it.
Seems appropriate given "Horror Club" that the net episode focuses on Ronaldo.
Lars and Sadie are two people who don't know how to deal with their mutual affections with one another. He does take advantage of her and he needs to stop doing that and she needs to stop letting him do that. Though, the latter is easier said than done.
And I think it's wrong to say that he uses her feelings for him to get off work easier. During the episodes where he does that I think it's fair to assume he doesn't really get how she feels about him
Never been one for the Lars/Sadie episodes. Not crazy about relationship drama between characters whose characterizations primarily revolve around said relationship drama.

Among Gem pairings, that seems to be the most popular, with Lapidot a close second, for some reason.
They don't know that Steven can reclaim those healing ability, so "lost" is a good way to put it.
