> but is there any canonical suggestion at all as to where they might be?
Nope,none.
Though I've seen plenty of people point to the chest in Lion's mane, which in all likelyhood where they probably ended up
New theme music also a boxAnd if Pink was still the size she appeared as in Stevonnie's dream when she was shattered, that would explain how the shards could fit in the chest.

Disgusted, but not surprisedSomething like "implanted memories" would only work if Eyeball popped out of the ground the day it happened, otherwise her story is very easy to break apart, for obvious reasons.
With implanted memories, true, the story would be easy to break apart by analysis. However, watching Blue Zircon go through those motions during the trial shows that, by and large, Homeworld gems don't go through that analysis all that often. Heck, based on her reactions, even Blue Diamond doesn't. Nobody is going to find a crime if they never think to look for it.
Reminder: Offscreen Villainy does not count towards Complete Monster. You don't really need a lot of analysis to break things apart. And the reason the court case was how it was because it was considered and open and shut case. Even the Crystal Gems take Rose shattering PD as a fact.
It probably shouldn't be taken as indicative of how trials usually go on Homeworld.

"Lars of the Stars" storyboards.
This made me notice Lars' hair is drawn subtly different than it was last in "Lars' Head". Back then, it was basically just a different color than before he was revived. Now it's frayed, making it look more like Lion's mane.

Were those "No" lock ons there in the final episode?

@53052 And to connect those thoughts of yours together... because everyone considers it an open-and-shut case, they wouldn't bother analyzing it at all. Which means that fake implanted memories would be more likely to work.
Reminder: Offscreen Villainy does not count towards Complete Monster. No, they wouldn't. People are going to find it weird if a Ruby for some reason thinks that one of the Diamonds has been shattered long before it actually happened. And, yes, that would likely be a thing that actually comes up.
It's why I said something like that could only really work if Eyeball just plopped out of the ground on the day it happened, and that seems incredibly unlikely.
Also, I'd dispute the ideas that Gems can even have memories implanted from creation; they're most likely "born" knowing what their purpose is (although Amethyst didn't know what she was originally made to be like and do, so perhaps not) but that's more akin to instinct than memories, and makes much more sense.

You know I wouldn't be surprised if Pink hadn't set up some kind of meeting with Rose with the intention of picking her off with shattering Robonoids stealthily deployed overhead only for a stray shot to bound off Rose's shield and hit her instead, resulting in Rose finishing her off
New theme music also a boxAny idea what "The Lurch" was about? Zombies?
Seemed to be one of those old zombie movies that are more cheesy than scary.
Jawbreakers on sale for 99ยขRandom, but I saw a post a short while back that suggested an episode where Garnet, Pearl and Amethyst make a bet who can stay fused/un-fused the longest i. e. Garnet stays unfused while Pearl and Amethyst stay fused as Opal for three days or so. Love the idea and it would probably make for some hilarious scenarios, wish we actually did get such an episode. (I suspect that Ruby and Sapphire would struggle the most since they seem incapable of separating for too long without spontaneously becoming Garnet again one way or the other... then again you have Pearl and Amethyst's different opinions on food so Opal would struggle as soon as the subject of eating came up.) Yup, hard choice.
The biggest sticking point is Rose's sword. It is stated that it does not shatter gems, yet she supposedly used it for this.
If Rose's sword actually could do that(which, again, it cannot, according to Bismuth), Bismuth would not need to make the Breaking Point.
That is why I am convinced it wasn't Rose. It's stupidly easy to shapeshift and frame someone in this universe, and the sword is the biggest clue.
As for Garnet and Pearl saying she did it, it's far more likely that they don't know the truth either. Rose keeps secrets from them all the time already.
Bismuth did not say that Rose's sword was physically incapable of shattering gems. She said that it's purpose was to defeat gems without shattering them. The difference is enormous.
"It can cut through a Gem's physical form in an instant! Destroying the body, but never the Gem."
Disgusted, but not surprisedThat just means it's really good at cutting through a Gem's physical body and it's not specially designed to destroy the gem itself. It sounds frankly kind of stupid to argue that a metal sword somehow can be designed to be incapable of damaging gemstones.
A metal sword that size also should be too heavy for Connie to carry by herself.
It's clearly not an ordinary sword.
Disgusted, but not surprisedIt may be long and deep, but it's pretty thin, as shown by Connie slicing things cleanly in two. Also, anime logic.
If anyone could somehow forge a sword incapable of destroying Gems, it'd be Bismuth.
Disgusted, but not surprisedI mean, ignoring the huge copout from interesting moral implications for a second, Rose could have just used a different sword. Seriously, I don't even expect that to be what actually happened but it's stupidly easy to come up with.
And, no, Luminoisity, it isn't stupidly easy to frame someone by shape-shifting in this universe. A different Gem transforming to look like Rose would still be readily identifiable to almost anyone. That only works if Eyeball is the only one to have seen anything and even then she specifically notes seeing as Rose Quartz gem, which is something a Gem couldn't shapeshift into looking different.
I vote we put this discussion on hold until we actually find out for real what happened.
Clearly it's just going to lead to more arguing.
We're in WMG territory, after all.

Disgusted, but not surprisedEh, the Rubies fell for Amethyst as Jasper for a pretty long time, despite the two being on opposite ends of the color spectrum.
I still subscribe to the Occam's Razor explanation that Eyeball simply saw Rose standing over the shards with no one else in sight.
And wherever the shards are, it's pretty obvious the Diamonds don't have them. Otherwise Blue Diamond would be spending all of her time grieving over them instead of Pink's palanquin.
