It's kind of weird, because when you get right down to it the game, and a lot of other games of the genre, sort of do the same thing as the idol industry: try to get your money by showing you an attractive girl with a manufactured, ideal image.

Said girl's personal life usually isn't ruined is the trick that gives the edge to full-fiction idols over Kayfabe idols.
Considering Atlus is behind the wheel, I'm expecting some serious complexes from the cast, anyway.

I hope so Persona 4 at the very least gave more to the characters so it would not another jrpg on the market. Also I hope the soundtrack is decent I can't imagine the entire ost being jpop and nothing else...
Doesn't this have the same director as Strange Journey? That game certainly didn't sugarcoat the uglier aspects of human nature...

This is not Strange Journey though and considering how well the concept of Persona 4 did I would not be surprised if it's mainly a positive game with the minimal dark elements stashed in a corner.
If this is just a one time game then fine, but if it turns out the next SMT game comes out over 5 years later people will have a reason to be upset how this all turned out. I don't wanna sound bitter here and I hope Atlus proves me wrong, but at the end of the day this game will have to make money somehow on a console that's not exactly flying off the shelves.
As for the hate I don't think FE or SMT fans should be attacking people who like it however they should not be forced into liking this game because other people like the concept it's not "betrayal" just not what they wanted.

I’m originally ‘Jack of all trades and master of none’ type of person, so I think that putting a thread through a needle hole like this is my strong point, but early Fire Emblem games that I respect and love have character designs that are just impossible! Straightly put, they have their unique design.
And it is wonderful how each of the series tends to reflect their own era. In addition to this, Atlus works on both Shin Megami Tensei and Persona! (It goes without saying!) … I remember starting designing while thinking it was an impossible mission.
While Mirage Chrom is named Chrom and the design represents successive lord lineage, it has sharpness and darkness that is a characteristic of Atlus games. And you can’t have him taking the spotlight from the main character, but then again you can’t lower his presence too much, either.

Heh, there's going to be Flynn, Rei (from PQ), Devil Survivor 2 Protag, and Aigis outfits.
Actually, the Shin Megami Tensei IV outfit is based on Walter's outfit. Note the open chest area. And I think the ponytail girl's outfit is the Princess outfit from Etrian Odyssey.
Still, nice to see something from Shin Megami Tensei IV being referenced.

I'm still planning on getting it, and I admit I want to hear more before I condemn it, but I can understand the negativity. It's very different from what anyone might have expected to be honest.

Absolutely any time in Q2 or early-mid Q3 is my guess, though it might swing a spring release if localization was allowed to begin early.
Assuming Pokken is May (to give the Wii U a summer multiplayer game) that should put this March or August/later to space out the Wii U releases. They did show it at E3 where they were only going to show off 2015 and early 2016 games, so March may not be impossible, though I wouldn't bet on it personally for obvious reasons.
There's still one video game expo left this year, right? I can't recall its name.
