I oppose Batman because of this◊.
Check out my fanfiction!@25, it isn't clear that Batman is killing Superman in that image.
24.1 looks like a decent enough image. I don't really know much if anything about that series, but I do regognize the hero's hair on that partially deformed monster body - a bit literal, perhaps, but it's the best suggestion I've seen in this thread thus far. The other guy just looks like some generic menacing guy to me, since I'm not at all familiar with him or his backstory.
I must be cruel, but to be kind That bad may begin, and worse be left behindIf You Kill Him, You Will Be Just Like Him! doesn't have a picture, the current or #18 could work there.
Well I still prefer Cyclops, because Batman has never really gotten there, but if it has to be Batman, then the Superman-picture would fit best.

Crowner. Note that a) I didn't add all the images, due to time restrictions and b) I numbered them.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanCrowner's hooked. I don't have time right now to add anything that Septimus missed.
Someone explain how the Fable pic is any better than the Batman pic(s) at showing this trope.

Some people take issue with Batman and co. because they are very well used here. I didn't vote yet, for reference.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanPossibly, but it's still a weak pic...that's my main issue.

I didn't put up the fable pic, but maybe it's because it fits the part of the quote, "And if you gaze for long into an abyss, the abyss gazes also into you." since the person is looking at an evil reflection.
Its symbolic so knowing who is what and what is going on is not needed.
Pre-weekend bump for votes; right now the Fable pic's the only one in the green but the ratio's not at "overwhelming consensus" level.
I gave Fable a further thumbs-up. Also, to me 11-2 sounds like overwhelming ratio.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanOT, but when did Cyclops start dressing like Magneto?
Edit- While I do like the Cyclops one, still ended up voting for the Fable one, which seems perfect, given that it is almost like a Visual Pun on the Nietzsche quote.

Edit, edit, edit, edit the wikiCalling it. I'm away from the house; can someone put the winner up? Thanks!
Caption or no? Maybe move the Nietzsche quote into the caption?
Locking up.

Nominations for replacement images:
I oppose Batman because he's one of the worst offenders when it comes to hogging page images. We have way too many pics of him that rely on being iconic, and I like variety. Still prefer Willbyr's suggestion.
